August 19, 201114 yr Author UPDATE!!! Sim left on over night parked up on stand - active weather still updating the weather etc... Powered her up this morning - loaded fuel - set my flightplan amd as I speak I am in the cruise FL370 EGBB-LOWI with frames still sitting at 30(locked using external frame rate limiter) No freeze - No OOM - FSX as now been running for over 20hours and still no CTD or OOM or Freeze. I have flown EGBB-LXGB-LEPA-EGBB-LOWI - both transitioning to night and day and back again - with weather, I have hammered the FMC with changes of routes/ stars runways, flown in HDG SEL LNAV, VNAV, LVL change - VNAV SPD/PATH manual landings with HGS, doing both visual approaches aswell as ILS. About the only issue I seem to have is brake cooling - having landed last night my brakes were up to about 2.0 or there abouts(long taxi in) sim parked and left all night - and brakes hadnt cooled at all - just took off, and gear is up and locked now and they cooled slowly and now reading 0.0 so the cooling works - just doesnt seem to function on the ground very well. Also had a couple of issues getting my Elevator Trim to work using my Yoke- seemed to work in only one direction sometimes - seems that NGX trim sense and FSX trim sense are in confliction with each other on the one direction(if you clicked the trim wheel it would trim both ways but not using yoke) - deleted FSX ability to trim (both button and key) and configured it straight through LINDA and think I have fixed it - will see when I get into LOWI! Please please PMDG release the SDK! Regards James Carr
August 19, 201114 yr Author James great post could you verify, linda must be running in background for controller buttons to work and console does not have to be running, thank you. Yes LINDA running - When I start FSX Linda automatically starts itself (both the app and console)- one thing to remember is when you do any modifications to your controls in LINDA you need to click the Save button before you will see them work in FSX. Have you downloaded the NGX profile also and placed it in the folder and loaded that? if you use the SYNC button it should set to your NGX. Also remember to make sure that you have deleted any of the controls out of FSUIPC that you had set to buttons(be careful you delete the specific to aircraft and any general controls) also remove them from the FSX controls(remember to check each joystick you have connected) and also any in the NGX key assignments. Regards James Carr
August 19, 201114 yr Hi James thanks mate, 1 more question if I send you the xml file is it possible for you clear out the proper lines for me, not sure what to delete, I have a ch throttle quadrant and a ch yoke, not sure what do delete to clear the fsx settings especially retaining pov, thank you. August 19, 201114 yr Author I can do - but dont want to be responsible for messing up your sim In the XML file you will need to scroll down a bit - past all the key commands(easier to just remove those using FSX where you see conflicts) You will come to enteries that specify your CH yoke/throttle etc For each one there is the standard and then an entry again but for SLEW mode Remove everthing between the <Simcontrols.map> and </simcontrols.map> apart from the name but just leave where you see it the <POV> entry do this for each addon controller you have. Example below is for my yoke and throttle quadrant. <SimControls.Map> <Name>Saitek Pro Flight Yoke{DBF99E60-21C8-11E0-8001-444553540000}</Name> </SimControls.Map> <SimControls.Map> <Name>Saitek Pro Flight Yoke SLEW {DBF99E60-21C8-11E0-8001-444553540000}</Name> <POV> <Index>0</Index> <Down>PAN_VIEW</Down> <DownRpt>1</DownRpt> </POV> </SimControls.Map> <SimControls.Map> <Name>Saitek Pro Flight Quadrant{DBF99E60-21C8-11E0-8002-444553540000}</Name> </SimControls.Map> <SimControls.Map> <Name>Saitek Pro Flight Quadrant SLEW {DBF99E60-21C8-11E0-8002-444553540000}</Name> <POV> <Index>0</Index> <Down>PAN_VIEW</Down> <DownRpt>1</DownRpt> </POV> </SimControls.Map>UPDATE LOWI landed using the 26 west arrival with visual circle to land - that was hard work!!! Airbourne again now off to LCLK - still not reset FSX, still going strong, and still all working well! Its excellent now I got Fsuipc sorted out - especially into LOWI with that short runway, needed to ensure that the reversers came on straight away! - and they did! Had a pack trip fault on Dep, so had to get the QRH out - but all sorted! Just noticed also how the NDB needle is made to sway like it would in real life - excellent feature that never seen in a addon before! Regards James Carr
August 20, 201114 yr " My NGX is not running 100% perfect since Hotfix3 " Did you really mean to say it is NOW running 100% perfect since Hotfix3? Just want to add that patience seems to pay off. I too now have the NGX running quite well with a lot of help from this forum. I have hotfix3 installed and some great tweaks to my 737NG PFC and FSUIPC that were found from this group.. Just wanted to say thanks and just keep at it and you will have this incredible product running great. I too was loosing patience and am a home Cockpit builder and was thinking the NGX just wasn't made for a complex hardware platform. I was mistaken. So stick with it and I am sure those still working to get her stabilized on your platform; she'll settle in. Good luck and to all the forum contributors. Joe Joe Porter
