August 23, 201114 yr Author Thanks NGX, I was your same opinion, reading some reviews. Riccardo OS: Windows 10-64 bit, CPU: i7-7700K @4.20 GHz, GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 1080 G1 8GB GDDR5, RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR4 32GB 3000MHz, MB: MSI Z270
August 24, 201114 yr Erghh, when will Noctua change the colour of their fans. I wouldn't care if the NH-D14 performed better than the H60 cos arouns my CPU socket is just one little pump, free and tidy of any huge heatsinks. and best of all, its all black to match the rest of the PC. August 24, 201114 yr Andrew, the point of a cooler isn't to look at it. The point is for it to COOL the CPU. It does it's job. And it blows any H60, modded or unmodded, out the water. And it's massive. So make sure your case will fit it Di Agron Dell XPS 15 L502X | Intel i5-2540m @ 2.60GHz | 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (2x2GB) | nVidia GT525M | Seagate 500GB 7200RPM | 15" 1366x768 | 23" LG 1360x768 | Got a hardware question? August 24, 201114 yr Yes yes I know but when you have a PC that has a window it is hard to not look at.you would be surprised about the H60. And yes it has the dvantage of fitting nearly any case. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
August 24, 201114 yr I've had the H60 in the past. I've had the noctua in the past. The noctua destroys it. And I changed those horrible brown fans for clear LED red ones (I had a HAF 932) Di Agron Dell XPS 15 L502X | Intel i5-2540m @ 2.60GHz | 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (2x2GB) | nVidia GT525M | Seagate 500GB 7200RPM | 15" 1366x768 | 23" LG 1360x768 | Got a hardware question? August 24, 201114 yr Yes that would make it better but its still taking up soooo much space. You would also be surprised with the scythe fan. It blows 110 cfm and I also have some MX-4 heat paste on. As a result it barely goes over 60 degrees at 4.8GHz. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
August 24, 201114 yr The radiator sucks though. It's way to small. The only liquid worth having is those with a huge radiator. Otherwise it's pointless. And so what it's big? You can either look at boring transistors, or a cool heatsink with LED fans. Btw with the configuration, it also cools your ram too so double bonus Di Agron Dell XPS 15 L502X | Intel i5-2540m @ 2.60GHz | 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (2x2GB) | nVidia GT525M | Seagate 500GB 7200RPM | 15" 1366x768 | 23" LG 1360x768 | Got a hardware question? August 24, 201114 yr Personal choice. Lets not get to angry. I am happy with mine and I like looking at the little parts on the PCB. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
August 24, 201114 yr Ok, not trying to flare things up but this is proof that the NH-D14 does not blow the H60 out of the water:http://forums.anandtech.com/showthread.php?t=2152557After 2 hours of stress testing I do not exceed 67 degrees at 4.8GHz. This is just the intel burn test so they would probably get higher. I have never used the burn test so I am not sure, correct me if I am wrong. August 24, 201114 yr Well why not run an IBT and see? Then see if you can run at 5 with yours which I doubt Di Agron Dell XPS 15 L502X | Intel i5-2540m @ 2.60GHz | 4GB DDR3 1333MHz (2x2GB) | nVidia GT525M | Seagate 500GB 7200RPM | 15" 1366x768 | 23" LG 1360x768 | Got a hardware question? August 24, 201114 yr point is even if the Noctua slightly beats it, it doesn't blow it out of the water. Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute. ~Gil Stern
August 24, 201114 yr It blows the stock one out the wate. I never said it blew your one with the mods out the water. Listen kid, stop your constant "I'm right you're wrong" attitude.
