August 21, 201114 yr So fsx is on slew basically? or it also provides all the variablesNot on slew ! The default 737is loaded but it's panels, views etc have been disabled.it's like running FSX after pressing the W key. That view is projected using 3 projectors and gives me a 24 ft X 8 ft outside visual.I use special software for blending the edges between the 3 projectors. PM software talks to FSX over the network using FSUIPC and Wideclient. Fred. Frederic Steiner.
August 21, 201114 yr Yeh, I hear there's a whole "Village" [if you can call it that] of just the Irish pilots based down there, either way I'm glad I didn't go, money ain't everything, although that was one MIGHTY package they were offering... ...called Irish Village. It's a place full of restaurants and pubs. I think it might be the only non-hotel allowed to serve alcohol. It was very convenient because it was RIGHT next to the old Emirates CAE training centres. And that's right, alcohol is banned there ain't it, Definitely won't be going there anytime soon, not now, not ever. Rónán O Cadhain.

And that's right, alcohol is banned there ain't it, Definitely won't be going there anytime soon, not now, not ever. It's not banned. It's only allowed in clubs and in your house. Restaurants that are not part of a hotel can't serve alcohol, but most hotels are huge and have many restaurants and clubs in them. Lifestyle there is just as free as in the west and you'll rarely see locals. It's other things that will make you hate Dubai and leave like most do sooner than later. But yeah, the package and the fast track to command are pretty good. But anyway. Gotta go, working early tomorrow. Nice chatting to you. Omar Josef 737/757/767

August 21, 201114 yr Commercial Member I was surprised to learn when I worked at Southwest Airlines that they took the Auto-Throttles out of the -700's when they first began to receive them because none of their earlier 737's had them in there, and they wanted all the flight decks to conform as much as possible. Hence why they downgrade the displays (in my opinion) with the "old school" avionic displays.SWA's now converted to the full RNP equipped PFD/ND layout though - that started a couple years ago. They're retrofitting their 300s and 500s with glass now too. Ryan MaziarzFor fastest support, please submit a ticket at http://support.precisionmanuals.com

I heard that about somewhere, shame really, I'd always admired them for their hands-on approach to flying.... Rónán O Cadhain.
August 21, 201114 yr You know that's just teasing us sim pilots, telling us of all the great stuff pilots can do, BTW Omar who do you fly for and waht do you fly, if you don't mind me asking? Yeh, I hear there's a whole "Village" [if you can call it that] of just the Irish pilots based down there, either way I'm glad I didn't go, money ain't everything, although that was one MIGHTY package they were offering... What exactly was this mighty package they were offering, it sounds, well, mighty?
August 21, 201114 yr What exactly was this mighty package they were offering, it sounds, well, mighty? Not really comfortable disclosing the financial and benefits package but basically they wanted me to take up a training position on the 330 for them, I declined, end of. Rónán O Cadhain.

Oh sorry, didn't mean to bother you, forget I asked; Sounds like you made the right decision based on what I've just read.
