August 31, 201114 yr Just wondering if an SLI setup for Nvidia Surround can be done with two 3GB GTX 580 cards. I have one card at the moment and am considering adding another for Nvidia Surround on 3 24' monitors.Would having 2x3GB cards have any adverse affects as opposed to 2x1.5GB cards? Thanks in advance Andrew Dixon Andrew Dixon"If common sense was compulsory everyone would have it but I am afraid this is not the case"

September 2, 201114 yr What's his motherboard got to do with anything?obviously it supports SLI or he wouldn't be asking. September 2, 201114 yr I did it with 2 1.5 gb cards(I have since moved on to a 3d monitor). With enough addons in some areas I was hitting 1.6 gb of VRAM usage. I imagine the 3gb cards will work nicely together and you shouldn't have any Vram issues. As far as OOMs, I have no idea.
September 4, 201114 yr I run a GTX 590 in NVidia Surround. Out of curiosity, I did a test, and found that I get about 40 FPS by disabling one of the GPU's, but only 30 FPS with both activated. This test was conducted using one monitor, as that's the only way to disable one of the GPU's. Unfortunately to run Surround, you are forced to activate both. When I use all 3 monitors, I get about 25 FPS in normal flight, and about 12 on the airport. It's smooth as butter, but still a relatively low framerate. I would highly recommend using one 3GB 580, and using TH2Go.
