C337 autopilot

Recommended Posts

Eventually, this topic can move to the, yet to be created, C337 forum, but here goes for now.. The autopilot in this airplane appears to be a Cessna 400 Integrated Flight Control System, consisting of a 400A autopilot and an IFCS mode selector. (picture attached) Problem is, Carenado does not provide a manual and I have not found a manual fordownload on the Internet anywhere. AlI I found, was a RW 337 airplane owner looking forthe same manual. So, does anyone here have some information on this autopilot that they could share? That would be a great start!

The FSD aircraft seems to have the 800 version with altitude preselect installed, but otherwise very similar.. good hint!

Bert, The Cessna 337 POH (real world) has a supplemental section for the Cessna 400A IFCS. I have a copy. I haven't had a chance to wring the Carenado version out, yet, but I'm happy to put something together in terms of a "user's supplement" for it.

Hello; We have managed to get the AP/FDE to work. Double check to make sure that the Master Elec switch is "on"...lower-left of pilots side a/c bulkhead. For FDE alone, just push the "FDE" button on the Cessna 800 panel. Then select HDG or ALT for FDE function. For AP, USE THE FSX KEYBOARD "Z" to turn on the AP. Then, with the AP button showing light, select either or both of the HDG (Hold) or ALT (Hold) or both. Works great. v/r qar02

Why aren't you using the AP master switch below the throttle quadrant?

Reply...to "why not use..." I am using a Saitek Yoke and other items. One of which is a USB keyboard, plugged into the yoke. It's quickest for me to just use the usb kb, "Z", and stay on the same panel/windshield view...no slewing around to find the extended 800 "on/off" panel. Bad habit I suppose...but, got knuckles rapped a few times for keeping eyes inside the cp too much. v/r qar02
