September 1, 201114 yr I just wanted to say I tried out AF in FSX, and disabled it in Inspector. I saw some speedup, yes, but also way more shimmering, especially on water. Maybe depends which texture is being used.
September 1, 201114 yr When I updated my drivers, and I see all of you have the same thing, the line which says "SLI compatibility bits (DX10)" defaulted to "0x000000F5 (DX SDK Detail..." etc. etc. So my question is why that setting? When you look at the options for that setting there is a "0x000200F5 (MS Flight)". Is it possible the default setting is wrong and maybe changing it to the MS Flight setting will yield better results? This is for the upcoming MSFlight, as you can see it will be SLI DX10 so one is to assume that DX10 in Flight will be fully implemented (hopefully offloading the CPU work to the GPU) where IMHO the engine improvement will mainly come from, as for FSX, DX10 is only a preview and was never completely finished, so to answer to your question any change you will make using Flight in the Nvidia Inspector should not have any effect on FSX. By the way I'm having a lot of fun with FSX in DX10 (with the right settings in inspector) where other can't make it work properly. I had a thread in REX forum about it, some were able to make it work after testing again.... http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/forum/index.php?topic=15009.0 Here is the thread about my Inspector settings.....remember one thing, I have no tweak in the fsx.CFG, tweak may change your result if you are trying DX10 http://realenvironmentxtreme.com/forum/index.php?topic=14954.0
September 1, 201114 yr Thank you for clearing that up, great information. I greatly appreciate it. Edward Smoker Sr.
