September 4, 201114 yr Fired up the 337 for the final leg into McCall ID and received a notice that my landing gear may be damaged. Looked all over the place for a repair shop but they were all closed for church or something. Up we go; after all it said "might" be damaged". Approaching McCall and setting up for landing. Gear would not go down and lock. In fact there was not indication of any move to do so. Stuck my head out to window. Nope, no landing gear out. Well greased it in on the grall along side the runway. took out two props and pulled a great seal of paint off the bottom. We will sit here until Tuesday I guess.Have not found anything in the manuals about landing gear repairs. If someone could enlighten this old virtual pilot about the Carenado landing gear repair process it surely would be appreciated. I'm beta testing the VAFinancials new VCAS5 and Mike has added a series of maintenance fees for the planes, and along with that he programmed in some failures, one of them being the landing gear, which I had forgotten about; landing to hard to many times you end up with a big bill. The light came on and I went into VCAS5 and sure enough. The 337 landing gear was in dire need of repairs. I had to shell out 12k to get them working again.I agree it is really a great feature. There's several areas that build up maintenance costs. Everything from Avionics to the Engines.RegardsTheDcn aka Timber Cheers, Tenpin aka Ken http://TVAir.org

September 8, 201114 yr Hi Brian, The failures were not introduced by the Carenado as I first thought..... RegardsTheDcn aka TimberThank goodness for that! My blood ran cold when I thought that Carenado were going down the same path as 4X (or is it X4?) Katana. The World is divided into two groups. Those who say "Give me a link" and those that provide the link. WWG1WGA
