September 15, 201114 yr Sounds good. It looks like my choice of place of purchase was a good one. I went to ShopBLT which I've never heard from before but they had $2 ground shipping from a CA warehouse and sure enough, I placed the order yesterday and they put it on a truck in an hour and it'll be at my doorstep this afternoon. My father, a CFI, enjoys simming also and I bought him the CH Yoke a few years ago before I got into it. I've showed him the PFC yokes and he just shrugged with the same thing: "It's not the real thing so just buy the cheaper 'not the real thing'." Good words. :) EDIT: Looks like it was just delivered. 5 stars for that site! It took 24 hours and 45 minutes from placing an order to arriving at my doorstop with the free ground shipping option! Not to make sure it's the correct product and in good shape ;)

Thanks Chris it seems that the shaft of the yoke is the same as the regular saitke yoke hi, Is the detent issue still there?THX Was trying to find out but it looks like most likely the yoke shaft and parts are the same as the Pro Flight Yoke System and maybe the only thing that was modified was the 90 degree's of turning from center and the buttons since there is that stickyness in the elevator control from what Chris posted above. September 16, 201114 yr I am setting it up currently. Yes, it looks like it acts similar to the non-Cessna yoke. I was hoping for more of a jump similar to the Pro Flight Rudders -> Combat Rudders. The 90 degree turn is very nice. I do wish it had an adjustable elevator center like the CH does. I am surprised at the amount of tension needed to move the elevator past a certain point, too. This seemed to be listed as a disadvantage of the CH yoke. Granted, I think the CH yoke requires much more force; in fact, I feel like I'm going to rip it off the desk half the time. My main problem is I can't set it up on my desk. I have a pull-out keyboard tray which doesn't pull out long enough to fit the yoke and I can't put it on the main desk as the keyboard tray is in the way. I am setting it up on another desk until I can get a better solution. In just playing with it the center detent is not perfect but does not seem as bad as I was expecting: the elevator detent seems to be more of an issue than the aileron. In fact, my joystick I've been using (MS Sidewinder) has a stronger detent. I'll see if my opinion changes once I play. I am thinking the rubber band mod may be a good one anyway. Side note: the throttles that come with it look the same as the throttle sold separately but move much nicer. The separate quadrant feels very cheap and makes a grinding-on-plastic noise as you move it up and down like it's riding on sandpaper. The PS2 quadrant moves much smoother and makes no sandpaper feel.

Its recognized in the calibration software but not in FSX :{ Chris Strobel KSNA
September 16, 201114 yr Are you able to get the blue prop knob working by chance? Its recognized in the calibration software but not in FSX :{ EDIT: I just loaded the Carenado F33A and the all three axis (throttle, pitch and mixture) work perfectly. I just tried the 172 so no prop pitch in that one. I will say: flying with a yoke = awesome! The detent is almost a non-issue in flying. As expected, the force to pull the elevator is the only issue I have. I had no problems flying with my fingers aileron-wise. The throttle and the mixture work great. I just bought FSPUIC so I'm learning it. I didn't install any Saitek drivers; I simply plugged in and calibrated everything in the Windows game controller settings and then loaded FSX with FSPUIC and am setting things in there. I do need to calibrate through FSPUIC or it only sees half of the movement of the throttles though this may be due to me not having the Saitek drivers installed. The only issue I am having is that FSX is still doing non-linear aileron movement so I have to move the controller 45 degrees to do a 15 degree movement! I am unsure how to tell FSPUIC to fix this. Again, installing the drivers may fix this. All in all, off to a solid if imperfect start.

September 16, 201114 yr Hi thank you guys for the replies about the detent. I am happy with my CH yoke and I will keep it till it dies...Next step for me is to find out if the trim wheel works fine and if there is indeed a problem when the autopilot is switched off (see my post in the trim wheel thread but nobody has replied yet) My gallery: http://s1075.photobucket.com/albums/w430/yankeegolf/
September 16, 201114 yr @yankeegolf3: Yes, I am worried about that trim wheel, too. Although maybe the FSUIPC has an option that might help. Also to add to my feedback of the Cessna yoke: it works 100% beautifully in X-Plane 9. Even better than in FSX. I need to figure out why FSUIPC wants to do a non-linear aileron axis for it when it is set up linearly. It makes it very annoying to have 90 degrees of freedom and still have a non-linear scale of turning. In XP9, once the axis are set correctly, everything worked like a charm. I now need to take back some critiques of flying in XP9 as the planes operate much more smoothly than with my MS Sidewinder which, for some reason, turned the Cessna 172 into a modern aerobatic high-performance plane. I may try setting the yoke axis into FSX and calibrating through FSUIPC and see if that helps. I may even install the drivers *gasp* as a last resort!

I'm sorry you're having issues! That's always frustrating. I'm using Win7-64. I think you may have to try returning it -- Buy.com has a good return policy, though, so you should be alright just some frustration. In XP9 I just moved the throttles to see which axis it was recognizing. Unfortunately, I don't have any other ideas for you to try. Also, I never loaded any drivers. If you have, try removing them, rebooting, reconnecting and just using it sans-drivers. Saitek is not for drivers that hurt more than help. Let me know if I can help any other way!
December 26, 201114 yr Just opened mine to fix the elevator issue (took the top spring off and replaced it with a rubber band). It has worked wonders. As you can see, the roll axis is different from the regular saitek yoke.Uploaded with ImageShack.us
January 16, 201214 yr I owned a Pro Flight Yoke. I sold it, because I was unable to do a precision approach in a 737 due to elevator stickiness when flown onehanded.Since I see there is another mechanism in place for the aileron, I guess this also impacts performance of the elevator when in one handed use, I would like to know your personal experience. How strong are the springs? I used to mod my old Saitek, but soon stopped with it, since the stickiness was so bad, if I pushed or pull a bit, I would get no movement and then a rash movement that was usually too much.PFC is out of my financial range and currently on the MS FF2 which is working good and is really precise.I'm not that keen to modding again as that would mean breaking the warranty and not able to return it if it doesn't work out.Besides, I can hardly try out the yoke when ordering online, and 200€ is not just so change...Could someone make a fast video on how yoke behaves in concern to stickiness? Like small movement, one hand use...?
