July 5, 201312 yr It is something strange if the previous fire test was ok. The bell will be on until you release the fire test switch or you silence the test before releasing the test switch. Now, if you don't have 2 mouse, or a key assigned for the test, when you release the test switch the alarm will stop. If not, you have something wrong... Again, the test is the same of the fire test before apu start. The difference is the wheel well light, the WW detection needs 115V from AC Xfer bus, so the aircraft needs to be powered. As the fire test must be done for apu start (to check if APU fire/overheat detection are ok) then it must be re-done to check the only missing light. Regards Andrea Daviero
July 5, 201312 yr I haven't an issue doing the WW fire warn test Andrea, rather, I have an issue with Bell Cutout. It takes me 4 goes to silence/extinguish the aural alert/Fire Warn switch. Have I identified a bug specific to my ngx, or is it a common defect with others? Brian Nellis. Brian Nellis
July 5, 201312 yr Brian, do you mean that switching the test switch to fire the sound continues until you push 4 times the bell cutout? No one found this issue. I doubt it is a bug. Other than that, do you use the bell cutout on the panel or the master warning lights on the glareshields? In each case the sound stops only when you push them 4 times? What about the test switch? does it returns to the center position when you release it or not? Regards Andrea Daviero
July 5, 201312 yr Yes, that is what I mean Andrea. I have to push the BELL CUTOUT lever/switch on the Overheat/Fire Protection Panel (below the engine start levers) 4 times before the aural alert will shut up (as required when carrying out the WW fire test, post APU start). I only use the master FIRE WARNBELL CUTOUT on the glareshield for the fire test prior to APU start (as required when carrying out the fire test, before APU start); when I push the master FIRE WARNBELL CUTOUT light, the bell silences straight away. The test switch is irrelevant; it remains to the right throughout the procedure, until I click it back to the centre. Thanks Andrea. It looks like I have to re-install. Brian Nellis. Brian Nellis
