September 7, 201114 yr A year or so ago I read an article about Boeings plans to offer a more streamlined beacon casing for the NG. I read the article a long time ago and for the life of me I cannot seem to be able to find it again. I have searched multiple times and I cannot come up with the article so the details are foggy and I may be wrong. I did notice that on the video the new 737 MAX that they have implemented this into the design. I do however believe that I read that customers could choose this option for the current NG. My question is twofold: 1. Can anyone point me to this article? 2. If this information is correct is there a possibility of having this available as an upgrade down the road to be implemented in one of the variants, if it is indeed a customer option? Thanks in advance Mike Keigley

September 7, 201114 yr Author I wonder if it is an after market addition done by another company? As I am thinking about it I thought I remember something in the article talking about it being approved by the FAA. Is it not true that the winglets can be put on aftermarket by a private company?
