ASUS P8P67 LE B3 and Intel i7 2600K

Featured Replies

I bought the ASUS P8P67 LE B3 and Intel i7 2600K and was wondering if i'll be able to push the i7 2600K to max performance with the P8P67 LE B3?

It's a P67 chipset, so yes, with a good aftermarket cooler you can easily overclock it beyond 5GHZ. All the best

I don't think the LE version has as many VRMs as the Pro which are pretty important for OCing but, I think you could easily get 4GHz out of it.Hey Prakhar, what was the point in getting a 2600k on a H67 board. Can you OC it at all?

If someone has this MOBO with the i7 2600K can give me an idea of the O.C they are getting and the performance in FSX, i'll really appreciate it.

I can't overclock, I bought this motherboard because I wanted to use the better HD 3000 graphics not the feature of overclocking. At that time there were only H67 and P67. I will later upgrade to Z68 motherboard, but without even overclocking the 2600k is still a beast

fair enough.

I'm going to be O.C the i7 2600K to get the max performance out of it, so I need to know if I'll get that performance with that MOBO.

I don't think you will get as much as you will if you had a -Pro board. Many people around here say to stay away from the LX and LE boards. I don't exactly know if thats for OCing ability or features. There are many other factors though to OCing. You need to have a decent 80 plus PSU, good RAM and probably most improtantly, cooling. You could have a $450 motherboard with your $300 CPU but, if you have a cheap 500W PSU, stock cooling and some slow RAM, you won't get very far.

I have a 750W PSU and going to install 8 GB of RAM on windows 7 64, 16 GB later on and a GTX 570 superclocked. After setting everything up I'm going to buy a Thermaltake Frio Dual CPU cooler. I just bought the MOBO and CPU so buying another MOBO is not really an option right now. I hope there is no difference with the LE vs PRO when it comes to CPU OC and performance.

Well I wouldn't bother with 16GB of RAM. What 750W PSU is that that you have? You can still have bad ones. I don't think you will be able to get the most out of your 2600K with you LE board but you should be able to get a lot. Remember, it is an entry level board.

I have a Ultra LSP 750W PSU but not getting MAX performance with that MOBO is very disappointing. What MAX OC could I get with that MOBO and CPU, 4.6 - 4.8?

Well I haven't done much research on this board so it is a pure guess. I think you would be able to get 4.5GHz but it depends on your chip. You may have a bad batch of 2600k's, or it may be good. Its hard to guess what you will be able to get. You just need to start OCing, and see where you end.

you can overclock until the 2600k reaches to it's limits. Your motherboard is good, no problem with it. The LE or LX suffix doesn't matter with the overclocking ability, there are some useless features on pro or deluxe motherboards which only make some work convenient. It's a P67 chipset so yes you can overclock just like a high end P67 or Z68 motherboard. Just remember to get a good aftermarket cooler and start slowly and steadily. If you want insane cooling water cool your system.
