Hello everyone, i commenced a flight from EDDF to LOWW. I put the flightplan into ASE in the briefin section and received my average winds, which were to be 254/37. Each wind aloft at FL350 at each waypoint were somewhere between that average and ALL should come from the west, i.e. somewhere between 250-290. Well, sometime after initial climbout i had absolutey no winds at all, although in Frankfurt, weather was quite rough... later on, i had "some" winds but coming ALL from the east, most of the time from heading of 035 to 044 instead from the west. It was nearly the exact opposite direction?!?! Furthermore, sometimes weather was absolutely clear, as if i had no ASE active. I had a visibility to infinity instead of the limit set via ASE. Then again, i had some clouds but only a few cumulus instead of at least scattered clouds... in europe, especially in germany it is currently raining and extremely cloudy but ASE tells me we have a beautiful sunny weather with clear skys all down to Austria, Vienna. Well, something must have gone terribly wrong as this weather depiction is far from reliable and shows the exact opposite of what should be depicted. Here are some information you might find usefull: ASE settings: Force Destination Wx Zone => ActiveForce ATC Wind Lock => ActiveForce High Priority Processes => ActiveAutomatic Downloads => ActiveDownload Interval: 30 MinutesDepiction Mode: Smooth Cloud TransitionsDepict Hurricanes (FSX) => ActiveCreate Additional Stations (FSX) => ActiveEnhance Route Coverage (FSX) => ActiveDynamic Rate of Change: 5%Fog Layer Generation => ActiveDisable Haze Layer => ActiveMinimum Surface Visiblity : 0 SMMax. Surface Visibility : 100 SMMax. Upper Visiblity : 65 SM I use Windows XP SP3Registered Version of FSUIPC with wind smoothing of 3sec./ per heading changei used the PMDG 738 NGX for this flight, no S-Turn issues so far, except with DWC which i never use due to bad results in general.ASE Build 647. Hi, We'll see what we can do. It might be a connection problem between ASE and your Simconnect. There is a SimConnectLog file that may provide some clues as to what is happening. Post that file and I'll be glad to take a look.

Jim, where do i find the SommConnectLog file? When i browse to my ASE folder there is no SimConnectLog file. There is only the SimConnectFiles folder and within is a restoral.bin, SimConnect.cfg and SimConnect.xml.

Hi, Every time FSX tries to connect with Simconnect, it fails. You can try fixing SimConnect by using the 3 FSX SDKs and running the Simconnect.msi. files. SDK1 is on DVD 1and the other 2 can be downloaded from Microsoft.

How did that happen that SimConnect suddenly refuses to work? I used ASE since it was released and never had any problems despite the S-Turn issue and now it is broken?

Hi, Files in the Windows folder can become corrupted easily for a multitude of reasons: program crash, system re-boot, power outage, virus, etc. It is impossible to determine exactly why.

FWIW, I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago. ASE would work for a few minutes, then weather updates would stop, and my simconnect log had the same error messages as the OP reported. (I run ASE on my network, on a separate computer from FSX.It turned out to be an AV problem. I use Eset NOD32 on all my computers, and a few days before the problem started, I had a power outage just as NOD32 was updating its virus definition files on the FSX machine. The crash apparently corrupted the firewall. While troubleshooting the problem, I found that the shared folders on the FSX computer would suddenly become unavailable to all other machines on the network... then they would reappear - then disappear etc.Had to remove then reinstall the AV software. Since then, no more problems.

Maybe I have a similar problem. I use avira-antivir. I will try with and without.At the destination (EGCC) seems to be another problem. I refreshed the weather and then it worked.

Hi,Those logs message are normal, it's indicating the process of attempting to connect to FS (constantly). Those messages will stop once FS is connected.

Whoops, I apologize, I didn't see the end of that log in the frame. That doesn't seem right... Could you please send your full ASE_Log.txt as well as this simconnect log file to our support desk? Something wrong is certainly occurring somewhere causing a failure of ASE weather encoding to FSX. Thank you!
