What may be the problem? . The best way to change that is via the FS user interface.Unfortunately, neither “UPS” nor “FED EX” is available by default. Therefore, you will need to install a free utility called EditVoicepack, which will add scores of missing airline names. You can even accelerate the ATC speech chatter with a few mouse clicks. After that you will be able to assign “UPS”,“FED EX”, or any other you prefer. Be aware that there is one version for FS9, and a different one for FSX. http://www.editvoicepack.com/ Geraldhttp://www.multicrewxp.com Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com

Assuming you installed EditVoicepack V4.0 Select “Community modifications” on the left pane. Click “File” menu in user interface. Select “Update Voicepack” When the wizard appears, click Next. You can then select how fast you want the ATC chatter to be. Next, “Use ICAO phraseology” Next, make sure “update airline call sign list” option is selected. A few more clicks and you are done. What will happen is that Editvoicepack will backup then replace the default FSX“USEnglishBig.gvp” voice pack (that’s where the ATC chatter is coming from). It will also update the list of airlines available. You don’t actually need to use the advanced Editvoicepack editing stuff. No need to create UPS or FED EX airlines. Other people have already added them. You just need to update the voice pack. Geraldhttp://www.multicrewxp.com Gerald R https://www.multicrewxp.com
September 24, 201114 yr Author Thanks Gerald. I followed the instructions and completed the procedure. I assume I did everything correctly however, ATC still refers to my callsign as "Cessna". Even if I initiate a request after starting from a saved situation, even my request call to ATC as "Cessna". Here is a partial listing of my Aircraft.cfg file. Please look at it and tell me what may be wrong. Thanks . . . . At 600 mph, the Citation X will run the mile in a sizzling six seconds. It covers 3,300 nautical miles in less time than any other business jet. It streaks from LA to New York in under four hours. September 24, 201114 yr Author Thanks Gerald and all of you. I have found the problem. Somehow I missed it. I got this piece of info on another forum and it satisfied FSX for what I wanted. "In order to get the UPS, FedEx or whatever airline you need to add both an atc_airline=... AND an atc_flight_number=... entry. If either of those is missing, ATC calls you by atc_type (or atc_model) and atc_id (the reg number)." Sometimes the smallest thing can get you hung up and you overlook the obvisous. We can consider this post closed. . . . . . . . Again - Thanks Wilbert
