Featured Replies

Hello Have not done a go around for weeks now but went to do a go around at about 600 feet in full approach configuration so pushed toga but nothing at all pushed again but nothing happened still. I have been trying to simulate a go around again but still nothing so I have to disconnect AT and manually advances the power leavers, anybody else having this issue

Guess you're just going to have to land then. Ha, just kidding. How are you "pushing TOGA"? Are both FDs on?

The go-around mode is not working properly at moment. The PMDG team is looking into it and probably will be fixed in SP1.

I have been struggling with go-around issues since I first purchased. I have asked questions in several posts but not had any satisfactory response, so I have been experiementing by trial and error and this is what I have found: AP will disconnect on TOGA unless executing autoland with both AP's on. On a single CMD ILS if TOGA is pressed before disconnecting AP then as I mentioned, AP will disconnect but power will increase to TOGA "low" power and pitch to level and then up. HOWEVER, power will immediately decrease and aircraft will begin to descend! Pressing TOGA a second time will bring power up to FULL GA and aircraft will continue to pitch up. Above 400 agl activate AP and Vnav or SPD INTV (to allow advance of speed manually). This procedure WILL NOT WORK on a non-precision approach. In that case, press TOGA, manually apply full power and FD bars should command a 15 degrees pitch-up (you must pitch up to the bars manually). In most cases you will already be above 400 agl so can activate AP and select pitch/roll modes as desired. In all cases, normal procedure is to bring the Flaps up to Flaps 15 immediately and then once established in climb, raise gear. With GA power set, use pitch to maintain Vref+20 airspeed to clean-up altitude then lower pitch to accelerate for flap retracts. If AP and Vnav then this will be automatic. I have used the info in the FCOM along with my own work-arounds to come up with the procedure. I doubt that power decreasing after initiating TOGA is a RW NG characteristic, but apparently the need to activate the TOGA button a second time to get maximum GA thrust is required RW procedure. Hope using this info will help resolve your issue. Bigger hope, however, is that SP1 will properly correct any go-around characteristics that differ from RW.

We requested a lot of specific info from our tech advisors regarding "Reduced" go around and re worked the system Please wait for SP1.
