September 22, 201114 yr I just love my Logitech K800! It's by far the best keyboard I ever owned, and it's laser engraved 4-way backlighting is second to none... I owned couple of backlighted keyboards, and this one kicks it all. Even with lighting on highest setting the battery pack is holding long long time...

September 22, 201114 yr Author Well I tried to clean it - physically it looks brand new. Except it doesn't work now lol.The backlight works though yay! Now I have a blue light paperweight. I'm not sure why it's not working either... maybe someone can check my reassembly steps: 1) install metal backplate against cover2) install cardboard-type paper insert3) install the three thin plastic layers4) install hard plastic cover5) install rubber sheet with the little feet (octopus looking thing, bumps facing upwards)6) install top of KB All the keys depress normally, just that nothing works. Argh! I found this iRocks cheap one for about 25 bucks on newegg - looks alright:http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823204015 Honestly I love the look of some of the logitech kb's - but they're way too much, and it needs to have backlit keys, can be wired however. | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 22, 201114 yr Check no internal cables/connectors got siconnected during (Dis)Assembly Do the (Caps/Num/Scroll) Lock indicator LEDs light? Did the KB get a chance to dry thoroughly? Maybe the KB is upset you poured the V-8 without the vodka? Cheers, - jahman.
September 22, 201114 yr Author I found the problem, or at least I think the problem. I have most of the kb working now... but the tri layer electric plastic stuff has some degradation in one small spot, right where the spacebar and V B N keys are. None of those work... I was so close - I just wasn't looking at this area. Also, I accidentally ripped off a small resistor of some sort, but the keyboard was still working after that (minus the spacebar/vbn keys lol). So the morale of the story is - don't drink and type! So, looking at new keyboards... do I want to spend 80+ for a new awesome kb or just 25 on that one I linked to? That K800 looks amazing..but not the price hehe. How are wireless keyboards? What sort of batteries do they take and what's the life span? | My Liveries | FAA ZMP | PPL ASEL | | Windows 11 | MSI Z690 Tomahawk | 12700K 4.7GHz | MSI RTX 4080 | 64GB 6000 MHz DDR5 | 500GB Samsung 860 Evo SSD | 2x 2TB Samsung 970 Evo M.2 | EVGA 850W Gold | Corsair 5000X | HP G2 (VR) / LG 27" 1440p |
September 23, 201114 yr That K800 looks amazing..but not the price hehe. How are wireless keyboards? What sort of batteries do they take and what's the life span? Price ain't the cheapest, that's true. The quality of the keyboard is very good though. You can always return it if you don't feel it fills your expectations, can't you?K800 uses 2 AA Eneloop rechargeable batteries, which can be replaced. Eneloop are known as one of the best rechargeable batteries on the market. I have them in use in other applications and they are really great. And they have proven good in the K800. Lifespan of NiMh rechargeable batteries is usually 3 years or about, but Eneloop are said to have 1000 rechage cycles, which would mean much longer than 3 years. So I guess you are covered for a long time... it lasts about a week on normal usage. I leave it sometimes connected if doing heavy usage with brightest lightning for the whole day or so. Oh yeah, and the light turns on when you put your hands over the keyboard, I find that to be a really neat feature!
September 23, 201114 yr The keys may not work as the liquid might still be on the membrane, try to dry the keyboard in the sun or using a dryer and check. Ryzen 5 1600x - 16GB DDR4 - RTX 3050 8GB - MSI Gaming Plus
