November 4, 201114 yr Hi Word Not Allowed,Sorry for the delay in responding. I've been running FSX for a couple of days to see how it's running with your suggested changes.I deleted the FSX.cfg file and let FSX run in the default state. I left the frame rate at 20.All of the autogen loaded great except for buildings, jetways, etc at airports like KMIA, KFLL, KLAX, KLAS, KSFO, KDEN, etc.Sometime all buildings were missing. Sometime the terminals were there and jetways were missing. Never the same twice. All the runway were there in each instance. If I took off at KTPA for example (all airport autogen buildings, etc.were there) and flew to KMIA,then on arrival many if not all airport buildings were missing. All trees and structures outside the airport seem to be there. I have no idea what's going on.Hope you have some other ideas. Many thanks,Gerry

November 4, 201114 yr I don't know how strong your CPU is, but 2.8 is really weak for FSX. What you wanna do is definitely set clouds to lowest sight distance (60nm), and middle coverage of detailed clouds. Furthermore, no AI traffic at all for tests - disable ALL. Even on my machine this is killing my performance.Set scenery slider 2 below max and autogen on normal. LOD for testing to middle, bloom off if it is on, and also aircraft shadows on itself off.Furthermore - how many threads are you running and do you have HT enabled/disabled? What is your affinity mask setting? You can set FPS to 25 and very important - see if the FPS shows pegged at 25 (shift+z) - this is a must. If you can't maintain 25fps, you are possible going to have scenery loading problems.
November 4, 201114 yr I'll check these out later tonight and let you know. Thanks for your help. My system is running Windows 7 pro 64 bit. Quad core 2.83 w/8 gigs ram. Nvidia GForce 470. Thanks again,Gerry

Nvidia GForce 470.Thanks again,GerryOK. And be careful about that fsx.cfg, the one you posted was terrible, just couple of things:- double and triple lines of some settings, what i saw by just overflying the data- more than one graphic driver line - this one MUST appear only once- you are running very high resolution in one of those graphic driver lines - try running default for test, only one display, or windowed on one screen for that matterIt is definitely not normal for autogen not to appear, except if:- your system is not working as it should? how is the CPU usage in task manager when FSX is NOT running?- FSX installation is bogus- turn off antivirus for testing
November 4, 201114 yr Just got home and have not tested FSX yet. The reason I have a high resolution is I'm running 3 - 24" wide screen monitors with a Matrox trlple head 2 go digital version. The old FSX.cfg was deleted and I have let FSX re-build a new one. The weird thing is there was no problem for a long time and my frame rates have always been high around 22 to 40 with most of the sliders to the right. As soon as I get a chance I'll start the test and let you what happened. Thanks again,Gerry
November 5, 201114 yr Just finished a flight from KJAX to KMIA. I set everything as per your instructions. Most of the terminals, jetways, and other buildings we're missings as before. I checked the CPU before I started FSX and it was 0%. Also the hyper threading is enabled. Any airport I start at has all its buildings but when I go to another airport the buildings don't load. I don't get it. The frame rates are ok. Could this be a video problem? Thanks,Gerry
November 5, 201114 yr Also the hyper threading is enabled.Do you have a JOBSCHEDULER, Affinitymask in your fsx.cfg?

November 5, 201114 yr Which slider do you mean? Thanks,Gerry Which slider do you mean? Thanks,GerryThe scenery density slider in the settings, below that is the autogen slider. The difference is autogen is randomly placed (according to land class) to make the scenery look more realistic looking. These are trees, houses, apartment building, etc.. Scenery includes fixed landmark location items, such as airport terminals, jetways, Specific landmark 3D objects/buildings (Ex:The Empire State Building in N.Y.) By what you describe terminals, jetways, and other buildings missing, seems to indicate the problem is the Scenery density, not an Autogen problem. November 6, 201114 yr I want to thank everyone who has posted information to help solve my problem. That problem is solved. The solution is by adding the following lines to the FSX.cfg file. [bufferPools]UsePools=0[Jobscheduler]AffinityMask=14[Graphics]HighMemFix=1I've also been able to move most of the scenery sliders all the way to the right. And setting my frames to unlimited. With these settings I'm getting frame rate between 20 and 40 on average. Many thanks,Gerry
