hey Guys, I need some help, my friends fsx is having trouble with autogen trees and buildings. Autogen Disappears with in 10 mins after i fly out side of the radius i started at. i he adjusts the graphics settings they reappear on ly to disappear in a few minutes, everything worked before but this recently started.Things that I have tried:1. Deleting FSX.cfg. no affect2. Complete reinstall of fsx ( uninstall and deleted all files pertaining to it EVERYTHING)3. Installed original graphics card drivers and software.4. Updated graphics card software.5. Rolled back drivers6. Update drivers.7. edited MSconfig to selective startup with only the basics8. have turned up and down all settings fix is only temp in 10 mins autogen is goneWin 7 64 bitAMD Phenom II X6 1055t 2.8 gh8gb ramASUS EAH6850 Series video cardNeed some help if possible

Paul gave the quite right answer. You are by far overloading your hardware and unlimited frames isn't helping.Lower the settings and limit internally to 25fps.But, I would recommend you really delete your fsx.cfg and without ANY changes attempt a flight.

The same advice what Paul wrote applies to you. I see Paul thought upper FSX.cfg is from original poster, while it was from you. Read our previous posts and apply.

If you delete your fsx.cfg, your frames are going to be 20 by default. Leave it at that, and fly a straight flight over default scenery. Check what is going on.You must have added something that is overloading the CPU. But hardly anyone can help you out with it, since there are too many addons out there, that we might know what exactly it is. We can only guess and see how FSX performs on your computer.You could try running FSXMark11 to see how it performs vs similar systems.

hey Guys, I need some help, my friends fsx is having trouble with autogen trees and buildings. The highlighted text is the key. This is normal in FSX. This is what is called popping. Autogen will only spawn within a certain radius of your plane. This is controlled, by the "LOD_RADIUS" field in the FSX.CFG file. The max via the GUI is 4.5 (I believe it is in NM, although I might be wrong on that) You can however manually increase it (editing the fsx.cfg file) I believe up to something like 12.5. Most that do this I think uses 7.5 to 8.5. Note though, if you make any changes to your settings via FSX, this setting will revert to 4.5. Also the higher the setting the worse the performance hit.You may want to look into Bojote's FSX optimization tool, it may help.http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html

Tom, LOD_RADIUS has no effect on the radius of Autogen. There have been many attempts to change the autogen radius, but they all failed afaik. LOD_RADIUS is only going to change the range of sharp terrain textures.
