Saitek Pro Flight Yoke doesn't like Slew...

Featured Replies

Everytime I slew, (Y), the plane spins out of control, and it doesn't stop until I press Y again. #####? Can anyone help me with this? I tried clearing Slew keys from the Controls in FSX, but it didnt help. Shocked.gif

For me i have to centre the pitch ( blue lever) on yoke to stop the plane spinning. The closer you get to the centre the slower the plane will spin.

It will be because your null zones are not wide enough, the program is reading an input from your stick when it is centred. You can either widen the null zones on your stick with the sensitivity settings in FS, or you can assign another key or button to the slew in FSX keyboard and button commands. It's no bad thing to widen the null zones on your controls a bit anyway, only an F-16, Sukhoi 26 or something like that has near-instantaneous control responses, most other aircraft are a little bit slow to respond to control inputs. I'll try that, thanks. BTW, my 737NGX is downloading!!! Yep, I got it instead of the MD11. ***EDIT***: Incresing the "null zones" for both of the things it seemed to work now. Thanks so much for solving my problem so quickly!!! But 1 question, what exactly is this "null zone"???? Will incresing it affect anything? Because I really rely on slew.

Good choice. You'll prefer the NG. The 'scud' (aka the MD-11) is far more esoteric, so it is harder to find info on how to fly it, the 737 on the other hand is the most common airliner in the world, so it is easy to find info on the thing. Al

Haha I agree. I'm burning it to a disc right now, so I have a backup. Anyway what is a null zone?

The null zone is the 'dead' area in the middle of the control's throw, where moving the stick won't send any input to the program, you always want a little bit of null zone so that when you leave the stick centred, you don't start rolling or climbing/diving, although with the MD-11 you might like it because it has a tiny elevator that runs out of sufficient control authority at approach speeds LOL Al

Oh gotcha thanks Al. :) I just finished installing, starting up FSX....

the slew also still spins my plane in circles.... I'm very frustrated with this purchase, that's for sure! And also, why the $#%^ can't I turn on the lights via "L" and instead I must manually turn them on??? #####? Shocked.gif

Did you try the blue lever?.. You cant turn lights on with L coz its a realistic sim, just like you cannot start the engines with Ctrl E. No need for the W*f

Yes, but I currently have it set to the spoilers, so moving it is kinda annoying.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lol. Saitek should be aware of this problem. I sent them an email.. Yes, I know what you're thinking. "Why are you wasting time sending them an email about Slew? It's 'bad'!" Well I use it to practice my landings. I take off, then slew myself back to land.
