  1. I had trouble installing, but I got 'er dun. Man FSX was never this pretty. Holy moly fonze! Good job mister programmer. For me, this thing is a new experience. I think there will be some trouble ahead, as with everything FSX. But, I don't want to look back. elle est belle!
  2. I will also forego this option, I am not giving out anymore CC info than I absolutely have to do. I received an 000-000-0000 call three days ago for the first time. A few mths ago Wells Fargo sent me a letter on my credit "application", one I did not submit. I've never used Wells Fargo, but they did buy a bank that I once used for payroll. One of the reasons why I try to restrict personal information is that if someone who has my information is compromised, then I may become a victim as well. Any site can be hacked. I don't want to have to go hunting someone no matter where they may be, or how secure they may think they are. Revenge is a dish best served cold. I can't abide "users".

    VAS usage = 1.1 GB+?

aw s@*t, I did even though I already had RAAS installed. I did check it to ensure any needed modifications would not be hampered. I did see couat using up tp 600mb.

I'm the same way with things, that's why I very rarely ask questions on this forum. I have been a trouble shooter all of my life. When I run into situations where I haven't got a starting point, there is the net. Will be looking to see what you come up with on this matter. My PC is a 3930k at 4.6 on an asus sabertooth x79 16GB of ram, an asus 680gt. Temps under stress never go above 61c with the corsair h110i cooling the cpu, my room is airconditioned. My op sys drive is a samsung 840 512GB SSD and FSX resides on a kingston 128 GB SSD. I run OPUSFSX, PFPX, EZDOC, and FOLLOWME. I have REX Essential Plus, and Active Sky 2012 but these last two are not being used for OPUS and PFPX take care of their slots currently.
  5. The MD-11 is my work horse. I use it about 70% of my sim time. I can't help myself when it comes to the MD-11. I think it's time for a pink :Straight Face: livery.
  6. Maybe it was FSDT's KLAX v2 and Aerosoft's U.S cities x Los Angeles not playing nice together? The head-scratcher is the only time this happens is with the 777. I have positioned the NGX, Kodiak, MD-11 and others using the same PFPX/FSX plan and memory useage hovers around 1.7 GB. With the 777 it immediately goes up 3.3->3.7GB. Strangely this doesn't happen at KSEA. I will be busy today but I will try different airport scenery areas such as KBOS, KORD and KJFK for comparison later today and late tomorrow. I've just started with 777 and like what I've seen, so if I have to make some adjustments, so be it.
  7. I was concerned about the CC. I received the email this morning but I will be off to th V.A. for the rest of the day and a part of tomorrow, so for me this part, "This coupon is only live for 2 Days", will make it close. I think Chris tries very hard to run his business and even though I'v been annoyed for some time now, I do remember that sometimes we need to encourage, even when disappointed. I will consider the The 777 package.
  8. Why? The content was advertised as part of a package for which I have a receipt. Are you implying stealing? Cash on the barrel head with in this case, a gentleman's word to deliver. Where is the breach? I've always saved receipts and emails in ******form to my computer, ask me for the pages on the day I bought it, and I can give it to you, all the way thru' the transaction process.
  9. It is as good as I thought it would be but, today I had the first OOM ever on this computer. Sheesh. I made adjustments here there and everywhere and could reproduce the damn thing over and over. So just for the 777 i have created its own FSX.cfg file along with modifications of various other addons. It is a beauty but, it is not the MD-11 which is certainly an older design that promised a lot... The thing can practicaly fly itself, which is probably why it bit the pilots of the SFO Asiana disaster. I say serious tubeliner simmers are missing out if they pass on this simulation.
  10. This describes my use of "substantive". You have to understand that they are relative "newbies" to use a US Army phrase. It's not only unpolished when referring to PMDG, the whole setup screams "we also want a piece of the pie". They are learning. I think this all stems from an over the top comic Dom posted on ADX disparaging PMDG and AVSIM. I missed that as I only heard of ADX when someone here reported that ADX did in fact publish a release date. I was not aware of the dustup you reference. Maybe they deserved the "backhand"?
  11. Avsim, Flightsim, Simviation and others that have been around from the beginning of the increasing popularity of Flight Simulator. I remember Microsoft itself once had a site where a user could download panels and models. Those days are long gone. I was on Frugals, combatsim, simhq, subsim....The sites I've mentioned, have had the time to learn and adapt, or have slowly withered and/or disappeared. I cannot remember them all. There were times I would lose my username or password and wind up with more than one login account. I've been around a while. I've been simming since the commodore 64.
  12. To be perfectly honest, that comment struck me as over the top! It seemed mean spirited: as though there exists some acrimony between PMDG and that site. Very sad actually. I dislike the the pseudo engagement in real discourse that sometimes occur on any site, and for that reason I usually stay away. If I can't meet you face to face, then in every "dialogue" I must be circumspect.. The site does seem less substantive than other, bigger, flight sim sites that I visit, but I don't see trashy.
  13. I got tired of waiting and downloaded the streaming videos so, even though not HD i can clearly follow them. I manage to get them all. Funny goings on over there. The 737 package was launched with great fanfare and then petered out...
  14. just bought and installed it. Tomorrow or the next day I will load it up.
  15. At about 1900 hrs and there is still a bottleneck with the store, from look of things the PMDG B-777 is flying off the shelves.
  16. "Fly Big G, FLY". From the movie The hunt for Red October, with a little license of course.
  17. some people are communicating via facebook. I think their security might be playing havoc too. The email i received from PMDG was flagged as a possible threat by my email provider. Then my firewall started to block everything, left and right. It took me awhile to get to the download, but after that it was smooth sailing to my first "walk around". This thing actually looks huge in the simulator. I worked at KLAX up to december of '05, and visited DC-10s, MD-11s, T-7s and first impressions says they got it right again.
  18. similar experience but i paid with my CC, and i had copied the url of the last position in the system so i could start over quicker on the next go round. I think there is some DOS attacks going on. And right now i am simulating a fedex kont-klax md-11f flight. Later i will have time for T7.
  19. it took me about 7 or more tries. I do know that if you were sucessful and try to buy again using the same lo-in details and/or credit card, the system will advise you that you have already bought it once.
  20. then check your email that you used in the transaction, if you've received an email from PMDG, then your order is there, if you don't have such email then you may have to start all over again. As I understand it, whenever your order is complete you receive an email in minutes. It shouldn't take hours, if the transaction has been finalized.
  21. log back into the e commerce system, and go to review previous orders, if you've already finalized the "deal" then the topmost "order" will be the link to your download.
  22. sign back into the "e-commerce" shop. click on "view previous orders". The top most order should link you to your order, and at the bottom of that page you will find the download link.. These guys are competent, but the system is a little cryptic.
