Megascenery

Featured Replies

After the recent posts about megascenery I got my socal scenery out tonight-and was again blown away. Yes-it takes a good 5-6 minutes to initially load-but after that- wow! I don't have the New York and don't plan to just because I am more interested in areas I know and have flown to-I will be first in line for the San Fransisco area which is the next release.I have no troubles with blurries-it just looks and runs great!Real shots from my plane vs. mega:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=111443&page=http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Hi Geof,Just wanted you to know that I took a look at your photo's and screenshots. Awesome! Makes you wonder what MSFS will look like several years from now. I suppose at some point in the future the entire default scenery will look like that. Just wonder how big our hard drives will have to be. :-lolCheers,Jim

We will have big hard drives, fast computers though not fast enough to run it in all its' glory, and virtual helmets on. No one will fly real planes anymore as there will be too many tfr's and restrictions, and flight simulation will be cheaper! *:-*http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Geofdog2.jpg

I especially like the 'though not fast enough to run it in all its' glory' part... hehe.May you have spectacular flights Geof!Take Care,Jim

Geof-Uncheck "Extended Terrain Textures" and the load time will be significantly reduced and I did not notice any change in the graphics.

I actually find I like the extended texures-makes the distant mountains show up beautifully on my rig-at of course the expense of load time-so I go do something else while loading up! :-)http://mywebpages.comcast.net/geofa/pages/Animation1.gif

WANTED DEAD OR ALIVE-the best Flight Sim!

Only a little bit recently. A few days ago I went up for an IPC. Although it wasn't required (I was just out of my 6-month currency and into the 6-month grace period), I've decided to do one every 6 months to help my proficiency.Other than that, I'm just waiting for better weather. _____________________________http://home.comcast.net/~jsnyder99/sigs/nameavsim.jpg

Thanks Geof,Yes, been a while. Been away from the sim for a few months but it's good to be back around and good to see you too! Your welcome for the patch. It was a learning experience for me and I enjoyed doing it. :) It's up to 965 downloads here on Avsim. Not too shabby, hehe. Of course the file is nothing compared to your actual aircraft nor comaparable to the amount of downloads it's had at almost 27,000 now, woot!Ok everyone looking in here, make sure to get your Beechcraft B33 Debonair! It's an award winner at 'the other site'. Filenames here on Avsim are b33.zip and b33fs9.zip.Once again Geof real good to see ya :D , and I say go for that Baron I saw you talking about in another thread if you can swing it!Take Care,Jim
