October 2, 201114 yr Hi gurus/pilotsAnybody know why I need to calibrate my joystick every time I start FSX? Joystick is Thrustmaster T16000M. Works perfectly for every other flight simulator. It usually needs the rudder and or throttle axis recalibrated. Thanks for any help / suggestions.

Hiya, not sure I can answer the question, only to say that I had the Saitek X52 pro and had to do exactly the same. A bloody pain in the neck to be frank. I now have the Warthog and use it via FSUIPC and since then have not had any problems. October 2, 201114 yr Author I see, I only ever use FSUIPC if I have been told to in readmes in order to get external stuff to run.. I dont really understand what it does to be honost. Do you do that with a registered version or can the free version do it? Any other advantages of using it?

I am unfamiliar with the free version and prepared to be corrected, but I don't think you can calibrate the controllers with the free version. Also, there are a number of very interesting other things which are cool. One I like in particulalr is the auto save feature. If like many of us you experience ctds and freezes, then IMO having an auto save feature is paramount. October 3, 201114 yr Are you unplugging your equipment? If you are, stop. You should leave all of your USB devices plugged in. October 3, 201114 yr Author Hi thanks for the advice about FSUIPC, I dont mind paying, I am just wary of trying so many addon programs, seems certain to cause issues...Also anything like that requires a certain understanding that you have to invest time into which is in short supply. If it is fairly straighforward I will give it a go. I do not unplug my USB eqyuipment, at least not for several weeks at a time, so it cant be that.
October 4, 201114 yr ACtually, ive had a saitek x52 for years, and every time I start fsx,I have to unplug the connector from the joystick, then plug it back in,and everything works fine.
