October 3, 201114 yr Simply LOVE the depth of the simulation of this bird. Was doing some tests with the autoslat system yesterday with the -800, above the sea just out of Coffs Harbor at FL140.With flaps at 5°, the LE slats are in the (intermediate) extend position.First test, I kept on looking over my left shoulder (Yeay for TrackIR! ) while the airspeed dropped. At stickshaker speed, the slats went automatically to the full-extend position, as they should.Speeded up again, slats retracted to the intermediate extend position. Perfect. Then I pulled the throttles back to idle again and monitored the LE Transit light. But... at stickshaker speed... Nothing! Quick look over my shoulder, yup they did extend to the full-extend position.Today, I checked with one of my company's check-pilots and he confirmed the light should go on, while the slats move to the full-extend position.A small bug in the NGX? Note: it really does NOT bother me at all. Normally you would never get in the speedrange where the autoslat system works. Just thought I would report it for the sake of completeness...Maybe PMDG can take a look at it for SP1 or SP2.... Regards, Frank van der Werff
October 3, 201114 yr The LE Flaps transit light on the forward panel below the flap indicator is inhibited during autoslat operation.
October 3, 201114 yr Author The LE Flaps transit light on the forward panel below the flap indicator is inhibited during autoslat operation. No according to our Engineering pilot...Maybe a customer option? Regards, Frank van der Werff
October 3, 201114 yr According to FCOM V2 LE transit light it inhibited during autoslat operation in flight. Jay Vorkapic
October 4, 201114 yr Author Ok, I had the chance to have a little chat with our Engineering pilot. Apparently he misread my email with my question. Indeed the LE Transit light does not illuminate during autoslat extend. So... It's not a bug, PMDG has simulated the system by the book! Regards, Frank van der Werff
October 5, 201114 yr I tried the autoslat system some times in hangar, so when tried on the pmdg I've also seen that it was strange that the light was off. However, searching in manuals, the light is inhibited in flight, avaiable on ground. The wrong thing on autoslat is that doesn't work if GW is not set.
