SP Request:Landing manual release

Featured Replies

Is there any chance of the landing gear manual release being added in an SP? I understand that it can't be 100% modelled due to FSX's requirement for all the gear to go down at once, however I don't see why it can't at least be partially modelled. Even if it dropped the gear at once, it would be better than "just push ctrl-g"

Was going to post this again, but I'll just bump this.

Well i assume this would be cool, along with the gear failure..

I tried to land without hydraulics and used CTRL G but the flight ended with a belly landing. It was told that it is a limit of FSX, but, for example, A2A spitfire simulates a version with the hand pump gear ext/retraction, so, it could be at least possible. For me a working CTRL G with no hyd power could be sufficient, I don't need the manual handles to be modeled. ;)

Don't use CTRL G, just use the standard G key. It will still work without hydraulic pressure. A concession to sim limitations as obviously the normal extension method would not work without hydraulic pressure. In any case, no need for the belly landing.

Are you sure? I'm almost sure they didn't work.I will try again.

Ok, just tested again and I was remembering correctly for the 50%.With a complete hydraulic loss the manual extension (using the G key or CTRL G) will not work. With a single hyd loss (A or :( gears can be extended and retracted. This is wrong. On the real, With the A system inoperative, the B system is used in alternate mode only for retraction (it is not possible to extend gears with the B System), and the extension is done manually. As on the NGX (either A or B off) they works always, the possibilities are 2:1) Wrong alternate extension simulated2)Manual extension simulated (in part) only for extension with A system inoperative.
