October 4, 201114 yr Hi, I tried uploading a screenshot today. Opened up a Flickr account to support that, but when I paste the URL I get a red cross in a box and when posting it says I cannot upload anything with that extension. But it is a jpeg image, so I guess I need some help here. Thanks Menno Menno i7-11700, 16GB, 1 TB SSD, 2 TB HDD, RTX 3070, Windows 11, MSFS 2020 DeLuxe, P3D 4.5
October 6, 201114 yr Author I see that Mr Kreznor, the administrator, is reading his forum and answering other questions but obviously doesn´t feel like answering my simple question. The result is that I uploaded my screenshots as an attachment, filling up your server memory space which you understandably try to prevent. Why is it so hard to just decently answer my simple question or direct me to the appropriate section where this is described? A search on the forums didnot reveal the answer to my question so hence I placed it here........ Thank you for answering. October 6, 201114 yr Menno, I saw your post but because I don't work for Flickr I'm not sure how to help you. Did you contact them to find out how to procure an actual hyperlink for an image? October 6, 201114 yr Author Chase, No, I didnot contect them but you can copy the URL to the image from a box. So I pasted it into the AVSIM URL box but it did not work.On the HIFI page it is mentioned that using a site like Flickr is suggested to help keep the AVSIM servers from getting too much load but obviously there is a problem.Well, since you don´t know either I guess I should still just upload screenshots as an attachment. Thanks,Menno Menno i7-11700, 16GB, 1 TB SSD, 2 TB HDD, RTX 3070, Windows 11, MSFS 2020 DeLuxe, P3D 4.5
October 7, 201114 yr Menno, Can you copy and paste the link, exactly as you're putting it into a reply on here? If the link isn't an image file (ie .jpg, .gif, etc...) and looks something like this: www.site.com/pictureid.php?id=23nlkn23k4l2k3j2 (note how there isn't a file extension on the end) There has to be some way for you to get an extension "friendly" link. Sincerely, Chase My 2017 Build: Liquid Cooled i7 7700K CPU idle @ 4.2GHz | MSI GTX 1080 Gaming X 8G | 16GB's DDR4 4000 RAM | ASUS 27" 144hz Gaming Monitor | MSI Z270 M7 Motherboard | Windows 10 | Samsung 960 EVO M.2 500GB SSD
October 20, 201114 yr In Chase's example the file extension comes before the "?". The portion after the "?" is would be Common Gateway Interface information for a script/program/app running on the site. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Common_Gateway_Interface
