How do I start from scratch after making mistakes when entering information into the FMS? I had understood that entering the same airport as both Departure and Arrival cancels all the settings but that doesn't appear to be the case. Cliff Harris

Which "mistakes" aren't changeable after you've made them? All the perf data certainly is and that's the only thing that isn't reset when you reenter the origin airport.

I've heard: Click out all power for 20 secs, and the entire FMS will reset. Feel free to correct me on this if it's wrong, it's something I've been told. I don't have the documentation to confirm it, nor have I checked it out in the NGX (not on my fsx pc atm).

What's the point of cycling the power? Just fix the mistake and move on. You wouldn't cycle the power RW.

Overwrite the existing data with your desired data. There is no erasing, only overwriting.
