So your getting 4GHz with a i5 2500K thats .6 higher than the i7 I was looking at, hows that work?

You overclock. You can easily overclock either the 2500k or 2600k to 4.5+ GHz. All you need is a quality air cooler, a P67 or Z68 motherboard, (and power supply). The reason a lot of folks admire the 2500k over the i7 is because it's much cheaper and the i7 (2600k) doesn't do a whole lot more for FSX. The 2600k has four more virtual cores, hyperthreading, and a larger cache. None of that (except perhaps the cache), do anything for FSX.
