October 10, 201114 yr I can't remember if this was specific to the MD-11 or the NGX had it. But is there some way of telling the NGX not to disconnect the Autopilot of the controls are moved? Reason I say that is because lately (Not sure if it hotfix 4) If you have any of the keys assigned to the had swtiches on your stick they disconnect the Autopilot when you use them. Zoom in and Outor Bringing up a Specific Panel. Like on my Stick Pov 1 is View Pan Pov 2 is assigned like this. Up is Eye Point ResetLeft is Previous ViewRight is Next ViewDown Brings up Panel 5 which Activesky Xgauge is assinged to. Anytime I use the right or Left or Up Options no problems. If I bring up Xgauge with a Pov switch it disconnects the auto pilot. If Xgauge is assigned on any of the base switchs no problems. Same thing was happening when I had the zoom in and zoom out options on the pov. Anytime I was using the zoom it caused the auto pilot to disconnect. I do not remember this behavior in Hotfix 3. In any case I think it would be a good idea to have an option in the FMC that says NEVER. so that the autopilot never disconnects if any controls are moved and you have it set to never. Paul Deemer
October 10, 201114 yr Maybe a better compromise would be to make the Auto_pilot Disconnect a little less sensitive to Yoke/Joystick movement, especially considering that some older Joysticks are getting quite noisy. It is difficult to operate the controls on the SIM Joystick, without introducing some unintentional movement. However totally disabling the Disconnect would seem to go agains all the work that PMDG has done to make the plane realistic. If you start doing this sort of thing, where do you stop.. ? Thin edge of the wedge. Maybe your joystick just need NEW "STRONGS" SPRINGS !!!
October 10, 201114 yr Author Disregard guys it was all my fault. I can be such a Dumba@@ some times. When the NGX came out long ago in a galaxy far far away I assigned the Down Pov to the AutoPilot Disconnect in FSUIPC. (Completely Forgot about that, cause it was only assigned to the 900). Even though I had it assigned to FSX buttons evertime I was pushing it it would do the FSX command and then the FSUIPC command which was to disconnect the autopilot. Somebody Smack Me! Paul Deemer
