October 13, 201114 yr I have an issue with low jet engine sounds in the cockpit. With default 738, till it reaches the speedsof 60-70 knots on take-off roll, sound of the engine is not heard. Today I installed PMDG 737 NGX. It got worse. I don’t hear engine sounds in the 2D cockpit. In the VC mode only when I change the view to back (view of cockpit door) I hear engine sound. With smaller planes there is no problem. Settings in the Sound Options are to Max. I checked the speaker settings too. I do not have this problem in fs9 but in only in fsx. Already I reinstalled fsx twice but it did not improve. I posted my problem in another forum, I could not get any help. I hope someone here helps me. October 13, 201114 yr Hi Ramana, i know some other guys have reported sound problems and I too have an issue. Maybe it's best to wait for the upcoming service pack, hopefully soon, to see if these issues have been resolved. October 13, 201114 yr You may care to check whether you have your sound config set up to stereo and not surround sound or similar. Chris David
October 13, 201114 yr . I don’t hear engine sounds in the 2D cockpit. In the VC mode only when I change the view to back (view of cockpit door) I hear engine sound. Ramana Ramana, This is easy to fix - the reason for this behaviour has to do with you OS and nothing to do with FSX. You have set "Surround Sound Mode" in your OS Sound Options while you are using "Stereo Speakers". Goto your sound card options in Windows and turn off Surround Sound and other special effects unique to your soundcard like ambience, 3D effects, reverb and everything else. Then set the FSX and PMDG sound levels back to 50 and you will be fine. Armen L CholakianPMDG Sound Engineer
October 15, 201114 yr Author M board is Intel DH67CL.It has 10 channel high definition audio with multi streaming capability.I understand, it does not reqiure sound card. When I tried to make the adjustmenet as suggested by Armen L Cholakian with inbuilt audio system (Realtec audio manager) like changing 5.1 to stereo and turning off sorround effect the speakers are going dead, Ramana Nandyal, i7 2600,3.4 GHz,16 GB RAM,Window 7 64 bit,1 TB Memory,Saitek Pro Flight Yoke,Throttles,Rudders FSX Gold,REX2, UT2
October 15, 201114 yr Aaah, interesting thread. I too have the Realtec audio. I will be waiting to see the outcome of this.... October 17, 201114 yr Try double tapping Q. It resets the audio for FSX, because there is a known bug in the game that if you switch cameras while taking off, then come back to the cockpit, the sound will be lowered. i7-6700K @ 4.5 GHz, 16 GB DDR4-2400 MHz, GTX 1070 8GB
