Fs inn & Fs Copilot 737ngx

When you disable FSInn weather, you don't need to touch the CAVOK button.
It doesn't seem to work the same for me when I do not enable the CAVOK button. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. That is why I posted the idea that I did.

Gotcha. Ok, couple of things. Under most setups, Cavok uses FSX Weather, so you'll want to ensure FSX is setup to download real world weather every 15 minutes (it will also do this within (I believe) 15sm of a new VOR along your flight path. Under FSINN Weather Settings, setup to download weather every second (you can actually set it up to wait longer, but 1 second works well for my system). Note however that us you run Active Sky or REX's Weather Engine, then you'll want to disable FSINN weather in the FSINN settings, but not that if you have to disable FSINN weather, it won't truly be disabled until you close FSINN/FSCopilot and bring it back up (best way to do this is to end your flight, close FSX, and then restart FSX and FSINN). You'll know if FSINN weather is disabled because the symbol on the FSINN control panel next to "VATSIM" will not be lit up. If you don't use Active Sky or REX's Weather Engine, then I've found the best (and most accurate) way to fly on VATSIM is to use FSINN weather from take off to 12,000ft and then switch to CAVOK weather. I'll then switch back to FSINN Weather below 22,000ft. The FSINN developers recommend this method (and I've used it for years), but they don't tell you when to switch to CAVOK (they tell you the TAT is inaccurate above 24,000ft, but members in our group have found that your climb will be progressively slower from about 12,000ft to 24,000ft, so we switch to CAVOK at AROUND 12,000ft. If you do use Active Sky or the REX Weather Engine (I use Active Sky Evolution and REX for textures only), remember to disbable VATSIM weather in the FSINN Settings AND do not select any weather (the symbols on the FSINN Control Panel next to "VATSIM" or "CAVOK"). I have Active Sky set up to download VATSIM weather, as not doing this and flying on VATSIM can mean that a 767 will fly as slow or slower than a 737 if the 737 is using VATSIM or CAVOK weather. This might not be too big a deal unless you fly in a group. I hope I've helped. Also, the FSINN forums have a lot more detailed information on this.
