Intel Extreme Graphics are T&L capable

Featured Replies

I have found out at the Dell forums that the Intel Extreme Graphics are T&L capable. Max payne 2,call of duty, Contract Jack, The Hobbit-all run on the Intel® 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller . I have actually tried out the demo versions on a Intel® 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller and all will run on it. Max Payne 2 offically supports the 865G-even though it requires T&L . So-Intel graphics controller do and can run games that need hardware T&L. At the Dell forums a forum member known as 'duhvoodooman ' informed me: 'The newer versions of Intel integrated graphics (845G, 865G) do indeed support T&L in hardware, but older versions (i740, i810, i815) most assuredly do not.' In Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004-has a hardware T&L setting, enabling it improved graphics quality with Intel Extreme Graphics. Without it enabled, graphics quality was not as good whereas it was enabled, greatly improvedThis might be of use, if your PC has a 845/865G graphics chipset.

Intel 845 (Brookdale) Chipset here and never had any problems with implementation of T&L.MikeP4 2.4GHz (400FSB), 1Gig PC2100 DDR Crucial, ATI Radeon 9800 Pro 128MB (Omega 2.5.04), Hyundai ImageQuest Q17 17" Monitor (1280x1024x32), Gigabyte GA-8IRXP MoBo, Ultra-Quiet PSU 400W, WinXP Home (SP1), DirectX 9.0b, AGP Aperture = 128MB

Mike, that's because you are running a 9800pro :), he's talking about on-board Intel graphic chipsets...

"that's because you are running a 9800pro"....ooops! Sorry, you're right, of course.Mike

Well-FS2004 graphics quality without T&L enabled in FS, was not as good as with it enabled on Intel Extreme Graphics, which produced better graphics quality.

Hi all,My post is in case some are considering buying a computer with one of these integrated graphics setups.DON'T.And do those same dells have AGP Slots to add another card when the technology steps up, or when you get it home, load up all your add-ons and find it possibly crawling as slow as a worm?I wouldn't buy any computer with integrated intel graphics, or any other integrated graphics. They are nothing but cost savers for the computer company and will not benchmark very well with current cheap cards as proven here:http://www.tech-report.com/reviews/2003q2/...5/index.x?pg=12That site also says this:****************************************From:http://www.tech-report.com/reviews/2003q2/...5/index.x?pg=12"Like I said, not a fair fight. If you care at all about 3D graphics performance, pony up the 80 bucks or so for a Radeon 9000 Pro, or maybe throw $67 at a GeForce FX 5200 card. Many of our benchmark tests wouldn't run on the 865G's built-in graphics, because it has only a fixed-function graphics pipeline and no hardware T&L engine. We're not talking about vertex and pixel shaders here, folks, just fixed-function transform and lighting."****************************************It is the worst thing you can do to your computer gaming performance, IMHO.If it is so great, why don't dell and the others use intel integrated graphics on their high end gaiming systems? Think about that. No thanks, and please pass on any system touting these things as benefits. maybe some day but certainly not now.Regards,Joehttp://aboutpolitics.net/images/bannerav.gif.About Politics.net - FORUMShttp://pub162.ezboard.com/baboutpolitics.Contribute to the Richard Harvey Scholarship Fund.http://www.avsim.com/pages/scholarship.shtml
