October 21, 201114 yr is there a way in which the weather in FSX such as clouds, move like they do in real world once the ASE has updated the wx info into FSX? it just seems that sitting at the gate, i see the clouds but don't see them move. i noticed this when i was using the REX v2.0 weather.
October 21, 201114 yr Clouds move according to upper air winds in FSX. Mine move across the sky. Do you have upper level winds disabled in the options in ASE? Devin CYOW
October 23, 201114 yr Commercial Member It's all going to depend on the wind, and yes the clouds do move. If you have high clouds where aloft wind speeds are high for example then these will appear to move much quicker than for example a low cloud layer with low surface winds. October 23, 201114 yr Author thanks for the reply. winds is disable, meaning that there is not checked. i pay a closer look next time. example, here at SFO, the low clouds starts to roll in. is there any way where ASE ans simulate that instead of 1 minute theres no cloud then all of a sudden there are some clouds?
October 23, 201114 yr Commercial Member The way weather and weather changes is depicted is very heavily influenced on FS itself. ASE is an add-on after-all. FSX doesn't depict the true way "clouds roll in" with a marine layer (I don't think any sim can), but you can get closer depending on your settings. Try depiction mode settings for example, which vary between local station-based weather and global weather. Station-based may provide a better overall snapshot of marine layer depiction in regards to the region (this is Smooth Clouds Transition or Standard depiction mode).
