Hot brakes

Recommended Posts

When the brakes are hot, and you are airborne performing local circuits, shouldn't the temperature go down if the landing gear remains down, i think by the ram air they should cool down no?

depends how long you're talking. It'll still take a while.

Yes, I don't know how realistically the in flight, gear down, cooling is. It seems too long. There is the known bug that the brakes don't cool on the ground (Don't know if any of the hotfixes have fixed this yet). I wasn't aware the ram air had was used to cool the brakes. I thought this was just for cabin cooling.

He didn't mean a ram air system per se, just leaving it out in the air flowing past the plane.
