Winds aloft data, where to get it?

Featured Replies

Hi fellow simmers.I love the realsim in the NGX, and I like to have everything planned before starting a flight. I just can't figure out where I can find the best and most accurate winds aloft data. I am using Active Sky Evo SP3, and I know that the program can show winds aloft, but I find it hard to make/load a flight plan in ASEWhat do you guys do to get winds aloft for your routes?

I personally use ASE (Active Sky Evolution). However, you can also find info on most weather websites. For example, here: (scroll down, and look at the pull-down menu below the map).http://www.weather.com/maps/aviation.htmlOf course, if you're flying outside of the USA, that link is pretty much worthless. I'm sure someone can chime in with similar websites for other parts of the world.

I load the route into FSBUild then I hit load route on ASE and pull it up and let it calculate. At the bottom of the report it says "average winds" . I load that number into the route page and it works PERFECTLY!
