October 31, 201114 yr The title says it all! Now coincidentally I decided to set my fps to unlimited and installed sp1 and I am seeing a 80% jump in performance. So exited I turned on light bloom and sank to 13fps so I turned it off. Now I am up in the low 20's maxed on just about everything at Complex 3rd party airports like Imaginesim KLGA and 1024 clouds from REX, etc, blah. I just cant explain how this airplane just engrosses you into the whole experience and how real it feels. Thanks!A couple of small problems though. This was occasional but now is every time whereby when switching to an external view and then back to vc I get a sound wav that plays even cold and dark, sounds like a low pitch humm like a big fan and a buzz sound or something. I never hear it at any other time. All the other air fans and electrical sound different. It is very loud and obnoxious. Also the VNAV is acting a little different in that it does not seem to do what I tell it. In the descent page I may have 300/.791 restricted to 240/10000 and in the legs page I may have restrictions like altitude and speed but these speeds are at my 300/.791 untill under 10000 and then constrained to under 240 but not for like 6 waypoints away. Anyway, when the aircraft starts down at TOD at FL370 it wants to slow down to 220KIAS. This is way before the decel icons and way before the aircraft should even think about slowing to the lower speeds in the waypoint constraints or close to 10000 feet.I allway have to speed intervene on every VNAV descent. Thanks and I will now have to justify springing for the 600/700! That's easy for me to do these days since I have less self control. Marc Lynn
October 31, 201114 yr Hi Marc,I think you are experiencing the classic FSX engine sound bug when switching views - FSX sometimes randomly messes up the engine sounds when switching views, it sounds like in your case you are hearing the takeoff engines while in cold and dark - this can happen. The solution is to press "Q" twice after switching views - this resets all FSX sounds and removes the awful random engine sounds. Also, the 600/700 engine sounds are quite louder than the 800/900 - check that you have set the FSX sound sliders to 50 (except ATC to around 95) so you experience the optimal sound mix.Cheers, Armen L CholakianPMDG Sound Engineer
October 31, 201114 yr This pressing Q to refresh the sound is certainl.y and FSX issue guys, It's to do with the sound cone.
October 31, 201114 yr So exited I turned on light bloom and sank to 13fps so I turned it off. LOL !!!! Regards, Max (YSSY) i7-12700K | Corsair Vengeance LPX 64GB 3600MHz DDR4 | Gigabyte RTX4090 24Gb | Gigabyte Z690 AORUS ELITE DDR4 | Corsair HX1200 PSU
November 1, 201114 yr Author The Q twice thing is great advice, thanks!Unfortunately the only way to not get my ears blown by radar contact is to turn my onboard sound way down and then the sliders in FSX way up, but they are still even relative to each other. Hard to know now how loud the sound in the cockpit should be. Marc Lynn
