October 31, 201114 yr Hello folks,I did the suggested procedure to uninstall the old version, then reinstall it and then the SP1. So far so good, it's very stable now, no ctds or freezes after a few hours flying with the new SP1, but I noticed a few things that had changed. Firstly, when ready to start up, grab my checklist and what a surprise when turning the packs switches off I noticed that the ducts pressure actually drooped instead of rise!!! preventing me to start up. After switching back and forth with the isolation switch which it is supposed to be at open position to feed air pressure to the no. 2 engine, suddenly rose and I was able to start that engine, then and ready to start up no. 1 engine same thing happened again, low pressure even feeding no. 2 engine's air, the pressure gauge still around 10 to 15 PSI. Sure I tried my checklists twice to make sure all is ok.Can anybody please check if this issue it just happend to me or is it common around SP1?Secondly, I noticed a big changes in the sounds where actually now is missing that quite particular engine sound at TO powersaddly removed now, then the other changes are all concerned about sounds at touchdown, much better now, the airstairs own sound it's just great, beside a smoother rides on my rig.Any suggestions are much appreciated.Art Washton.

October 31, 201114 yr Author Thanks for reply Sean, I also thought it was a bug. What the thread says is true, though here I think it takes longer to provide enough pressure as demanded. I uninstalled it again, then reinstalled, and copied the sound file to replace it when installing SP1 which I think the release version is a bit more accurate and pleases me more.I appreciated.Art Washton.
October 31, 201114 yr The APU bleed is a n ON DEMAND device, so it will send pressure only if required, mintaining a lower pressure when not needed (this saves fuel, apu life, ducts life).Te pressure will increase fast as the valve will move, when closing, te pressure will drop not too fast and te speed is determined by th internal leakages of the ducts/users, then the valve works to stabilize pressure to a lower value.PS: The isolation valve AUTO position with packs off is the same as OPEN ;) Regards Andrea Daviero
October 31, 201114 yr Hi Art,We did not touch the engine sounds in SP1 - which specific model are you refering to ?Cheers, Armen L CholakianPMDG Sound Engineer
October 31, 201114 yr Author Hello Armen and all,Well, there is sometimes that elusive thing called LUCK, I'm talking about an annoying coincidence when trying out my plane with SP1 when my speakers were distorting out the sounds a lot, for one reason I set Winrar's equalizer to listen to rock music before trying out NGX, may be there's nothing to do with FSX but it did. After several attempts and settings I realized that and turned the eq off, then tried a new flight and voilá "tous est bien" that pleasing take off sound came back. The model was 737-800.For the first part of my thread, well I firstly decided to uninstall again and then reinstall the release version plus the SP1 and now I got the air demanding from starters in it's correct time and pressure. Thanks to all for your kind replies.Best regardsArt Washton.
November 1, 201114 yr Author Hi, above I meant WINAMP not winrar, sorry, sometimes age is a bad fellah... By the way, I started flying too early this morning till past noon, making four legs in total... so far so great!!! just smooth flights in between... pretty much enjoyable... thinking twice, this is what real simulator is meant to be, in a very shrinked format... desktop PC.Maybe to those pals who still have problems, check out PMDGs recomendations about to run this piece of art, which it is, in Windows 7, 64 bit version; my rig is not as sophisticated as others and it still get around 14 to 18 fps in vc deck and with the new SP1, smoother rides than before, REX included.Congrats to the whole PMDG team for achieving such perfection within fsx limits.Warmfuly,Art Washton.
