January 27, 200422 yr Hi all,I'm getting back into FS again after a long break and I'm having a small problem. Whenever I have rain or snow showing there is a large cone of no precipitation around my viewpoint in VC and Spot views (see screenshots below). Is this normal or a known problem? I haven't noticed it on any other screnshots I've seen and it sure is distracting.FWIW I'm using an ATI 9800 Pro with Cat 4.1 drivers.Any help would be appreciated!Clydehttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59857.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/59858.jpg
January 27, 200422 yr Mine does that. I've a GeForce4 FX 5600 Ultra. I think it depends on how far in you zoom your view. We may be stuck with it.
January 28, 200422 yr I do get a clear patch in VC view but don't see it in spot view. As Scott says it may be dependant on zoom and view direction. One other thing that isn't correct is that wind does not affect snow or rain.Park up and set a strong wind speed and the rain and snow still fall down virtically, no horizontal component at all, that only happens if the aircraft is moving.Wonder if it will be fixed in FS10? :-)
January 28, 200422 yr Commercial Member Hi, This happend when you are - zooming too much, On normal view/ normal less zooming this will not happend and when you are flying this will not happend. January 28, 200422 yr Thanks for the response guys. The bottom view is zoomed out a good bit, but the top view is plain 1.0 zoom. No big deal I guess, it just looks really bad from some cockpits. Just wanted to make sure this wasn't a problem on my end since I don't remember it being that bad before.Clyde
