Yes, I though about general one, when I press post on this one.I was watching this live on TV, as all was communicated long time before it actually happened - some 1.5hrs before. Pilot is ex champion in Gliders - which explains smooth landing.

Great job. What a long beast too. Since the engines always seem to be lower than the belly I always wonder for how long they would hold up in such a situation. But apparently no issue in this case.sig.gif

How comes there were almost no sparks when engines were scratching into the tarmac ?Of course the pilots deserve a premium for their job.

Special foam was sprayed on the runway.
Ah ok I imagined it but I didn't see it so I was wondering.A side question, the beast stopped quite early considering the foam, no wheel brakes etc... how comes ?Thx

I read about this on one plane spotter's website.Big Huge kudos for pilots.And for those two reporters who doesn't know what they are talking about, GTH!

I guess you are right :( but the presence of the foam makes me wonder about something else involved.
