November 1, 201114 yr Yeah they are good ac. But you should have posted this in the General thread instead./ Leffe Leif A Mikkelsen **********************
November 1, 201114 yr Author Yes, I though about general one, when I press post on this one.I was watching this live on TV, as all was communicated long time before it actually happened - some 1.5hrs before. Pilot is ex champion in Gliders - which explains smooth landing. Tom Link
November 1, 201114 yr Great job. What a long beast too. Since the engines always seem to be lower than the belly I always wonder for how long they would hold up in such a situation. But apparently no issue in this case.
November 1, 201114 yr How comes there were almost no sparks when engines were scratching into the tarmac ?Of course the pilots deserve a premium for their job.
November 1, 201114 yr Special foam was sprayed on the runway.Ah ok I imagined it but I didn't see it so I was wondering.A side question, the beast stopped quite early considering the foam, no wheel brakes etc... how comes ?Thx
November 1, 201114 yr I read about this on one plane spotter's website.Big Huge kudos for pilots. And for those two reporters who doesn't know what they are talking about, GTH! Dmitrij Nazarenko
November 1, 201114 yr Probably because raw belly brakes good. Seriously, I wouldn't exactly know. I guess you are right :( but the presence of the foam makes me wonder about something else involved.
