Regarding hardware requirements

Featured Replies

The first question is simple. How much size on the harddrive will the 737NGX take? Second I have the impression that this plane is going to hit performence harder than what we are used to compared to other addon planes for FSX. Right or? The very high listed recommended requirements leads me to that conclusion. Is another plane better for me because of my system? And my system isMSI KA780G AM2+ moboPhenom II X4 965BE 3.4 GHz CPU4 GB PC6400 RAMNVIDIA GTS250 1 Gb videocard120 Gb SSD for Win 7 x64 and FSX (this is why harddrive space requirement is important)WD Green 750 Gb for other stuffJan Friberg

It's comparable to the 744 or md-11 if you have either of those. Some have reported better performance with the ngx. I haven't really done a comparison. Your system looks like plenty to run it as long as you're not getting too greedy with the scenery. The download for 800/900 is about 700mb, so somewhere around that.

It extracts to a much larger size though due to the terrain data - it's somewhere around 2GB total once installed I believe.

Oh wow, that's a pretty good deal there. I had no idea it was 2gb.

I have neither of these two. Only got GA plane like BeaverX Quest Codiak real air SF260

Well, with an Athlon II X3 @ 3.6 and a gtx465 i was getting 20-30 fps pretty smooth in the 744's vc at fsdt's kdfw (high autogen & stormy weather, traffic around 20%) The cpu's are comparable, so that should give an idea. (Phenoms have a l3 cache & my athlon didnt) I haven't installed the 744 since upgrading, nor did I have the ngx when I sold that system.
