November 20, 201114 yr These were small flaws I found and thought I would share to see if anyone else has noticed them and whether or not they're on purpose. I don't mind these small flaws, but I hope they can be fixed with the possibly upcoming SP2.1. The 'NO V SPD' warning cannot be seen on the FO's ND in EFIS/MAP mode.2. The '------Z' and '---NM' indications on the top of the ND are misplaced in EFIS/MAP mode for both the captain and FO3. The Radio Altimeter location without the 'Round RA' indication on is misplaced on the FO's PFD.4. EXTREMELY minor texture misalignments5. I can't seem to get some warning messages to appear on the display (such as 'TERR INHIBIT' and 'PWS FAIL' and others similar).6. Wierd viewing problemds with the HUGS that can only be fixed by moving the veiwpoint (is this supposed to happen?).These are very minor and I don't pay them much attention, but it would be nice to have them fixed, and BTW, the NGX is the best product for FS and will never be replaced untill PMDG release the 777 and then what ever comes after that! ;) FS2004 Forever
November 20, 201114 yr Now there's no way to put this that won't fluster you, but here goes: What are your credentials that allow you to make assumptions 1-4? Remember they're can be slight software differences from aircraft to aircraft, and major ones from company to company. And what are weird viewing problems mentioned in 6?I'd be interested to see proof one way or the other, is all I'm saying ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
November 20, 201114 yr Author There's a PERFECT pic on airliners.net that shows the PFD and ND of a southwest 737 in EFIS/MAP mode. Check it out by searching the site for a southwest 737 flight deck photo, then find the pic that is ONLY the ND and PFD, show's perfectly, then check the indications on your PFD and ND in the NGX. And the misaligned textures can only so far be found on the Southwest Canyon Blue scheme, as far as I know. If you move the viewpoint of the head left, right, up, down, forward, or back, then the HUGS display changes oddly, try it if you don't believe me. If you can't get the link I can get you the link through PM FS2004 Forever
November 20, 201114 yr Thanks Chris. It's not that I don't believe you, I'm just not sure if software differences could explain the avionics differences or not.As far as the HUD goes, for my use it behaves absolutely perfect. But remember that it is still bound to some of FSX's limitations, or at least the limitations imposed by the way they simulated it and it's collimation. It's not going to behave 100% accurately in all cases. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
November 20, 201114 yr Do you mean the hgs display gets distorted or you sometimes find yourself no longer centered on it after flying a while? If the latter, it's a known FSX bug where the center of rotation for the camera isn't aligned with the center of rotation of the aircraft. November 20, 201114 yr Author I know the HUGS distortion is an FSX limitation, as it seems, but is it fixable in anyway? And are the other things mentioned above fixable as well? FS2004 Forever
November 20, 201114 yr dear mr Waddell,Was it really neccesary to tacle Chris observations in such a rude way? The poor guy came in on his knees and waving the white flag and yet, he got bitten his nose off. jos denis

Chris understands that his nose wasn't bitten off because he's a mature forum member. I suggest you follow his lead. ___________________________________________________________________________________ Zachary Waddell -- Caravan Driver -- Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/zwaddell Avsim ToS Avsim Screenshot Rules
November 20, 201114 yr Concerning "flaw" #5: TERR INHIBIT will appear on your ND display once you hit the TERR INHIBIT button located under the FOs ND. PWS FAIL will never appear since a "Predictive Windshear System" is not installed on the NGX.Frederik FREDERIK STEINER
