November 20, 201114 yr Hi All,Does any one know if the force feedback controllers are supported in the NGX, and to what extent? In other words, if I get a force feedback joy stick, is it going to demonstrate:1. The auto pilot controlling the airplane? Is it going to move live with the VC column?2. The out-of-trim increased forces to control the column?3. The increased forces needed to control the airplane with manual reversion (complete hydraulic failure)?4. Vibration or trembling during turbulence?Thank you all,,,
November 21, 201114 yr I use fsforce and a Microsoft Sidewinder Force Feedback 2 joystick. IMO FSX would be unusable without them - I fly in real life, and although a lot of people (particularly sim only fliers) get on with a non force feedback joystick, I can't fly the damn thing unless it can be trimmed in the proper way - trimming to remove control forces. I'd hugely recommend the exact same system. It satisfies 2, which to me is the main issue. If you want something higher end, which I'll eventually get round to building myself, which will give you at least item 1 and possibly 4 I can't remember take a look at http://buggies.builtforfun.co.uk/Sim/index.html which has lots of information about FFB yokes and the guy is currently building some force rudders. Not sure that point 3 is addressable, although doubtless if PMDG provide (or could be convinced to add) LUA Lvars to allow an external program to detect a hydraulic failure, then the software for the force yoke could detect that condition and modify forces accordingly.
November 21, 201114 yr I also use the Sidewinder 2 + FSForce - great combo for FSX in general - in answer to your specific questions on the NGX1. The auto pilot controlling the airplane? Is it going to move live with the VC column? NO2. The out-of-trim increased forces to control the column? NO (but does work this way on other aircraft)3. The increased forces needed to control the airplane with manual reversion (complete hydraulic failure)? NO4. Vibration or trembling during turbulence? NONot many YES answers there! What you do get though on the NGX which for me makes it worthwhile:Runway and taxiway 'bumps' so you can feel when you are on the ground - great for takeoff and landingYuo can 'feel' the landing with appropriate feedback depening on how hard or greasy the landing isStick shaker effects when approaching stall Wayne Rudd
November 21, 201114 yr What about using a force feedback steering wheel but replacing steering wheel with yoke? Would that work? Rob Archer KIND Flying in a Full size 737 simpit
November 21, 201114 yr Hi Husker,Worth checking out your configuration if you're not getting out of trim forces from fsforce with the NGX since for me it works exactly the same as other aircraft.
November 21, 201114 yr I also have MS sidewinder 2 FF + fsforce, I'm asking to Russel (creator of FSforce) to allow us to use both FS trim and FSforce trim together, and if He could add autopilot and hyd functions. The reason is that the NGX when trimmed moves also the column a bit.Generally speaking the FSforce software adds more and more realism to the simulation, more can be done also by PMDG for other functions.PS: If you search in the forum I posted the better FSforce settings for ngx Regards Andrea Daviero

Thanks for the heads up (and Boris also) - good luck on getting the Stab Trim update done. Cheers, Wayne Wayne Rudd
