You could always go with some of those small liquid coolers, they take up next to no room around the CPU socket. But I would think coolers like the Hyper 212 Evo would fit.

Would the H series give better temps than a good air cooler like the Noctua NH-D14?

I have seen better temps with my push/pull H60 than the NH-D14, but its all down to room temperature which i was unsure about. Basically it will be better than anything else that will fit in your case.
