November 27, 201114 yr Captains,I am trying to do a fresh repair of Flight Simulator X. However, when I click on my DVD drive shortly after it loads, I go into a list of files that the FSX Disk 1 contains instead of running it automatically. Unlike normal, nothing popped up on the main desktop asking me what I would like to do with the disk. Nothing new installed, changed, or updated. Windows Vista 64 bit.Any help is appreciated.Morgan Wiley Captain Morgan Wiley Delta Virtual Airlines Delta Boeing 737-800 Senior Executive KDTW Hub Manager Real World Student Pilot Cessna 152 Pilot
November 28, 201114 yr If it is the problem I think it is your autoplay feature is turned off. Either locate the "setup.exe" file or when putting in the DVD open "my computer"->right click on the fsx symbol (you DVD drive)->press "autoplay". Manfred G. Ships are cooler that you think.
November 28, 201114 yr Author I do not have the option "autoplay" when I do as you suggested. And autoplay is in fact turned on. Captain Morgan Wiley Delta Virtual Airlines Delta Boeing 737-800 Senior Executive KDTW Hub Manager Real World Student Pilot Cessna 152 Pilot
November 28, 201114 yr Like he says, just go into the disk file (Explore Disk) and right-click on "Setup.exe" and select "Run as Administrator" Robert Yunque
November 28, 201114 yr Or, on the disk there is an autorun.inf (.inf could be hidden) that is a text file containing what the autoplay must run, see the filename, and then search in the disk that file, run it and it will run the disk main menu.PS: I'm going to check what file:Found: [autorun]open=dvdcheck.exeicon=fsx.icoName=Flight Simulator X Disk 1shellsetup=&Install Flight Simulator Xshellsetupcommand=setup.exeshelldirectx=Install &DirectX 9.0cshelldirectxcommand=DirectX9dxsetup.exeOpen DVDCHECK Regards Andrea Daviero
