November 28, 201114 yr Maybe I missed it somewhere, but on Windows7 64 with XP10 Demo, using default aircraft Baron and C90, can't seem to get rid of the bloody VC with any view. Forward view should be VC, forward with nothing should be NOTHING and forward with HUD only should be nothing of aircraft visible with a HUD overlaid. I get VC normal, VC with HUD and VC with no movability (static forward view slightly raised).W (Normal Forward View)Shift+W (Forward Nothing View with HUD)Ctrl+W (Forward Nothing View)I looked through the options for a way to hide the aircraft visibility (thus hiding the VC) with no luck. Anyone else seeing this or am I daft?P.S. The reason I'm trying to get rid of the VC is simply that I have no use for the VC during most of the flight as I have my own cockpit and just want the out the window view with my cockpit as the VC substitute. November 28, 201114 yr I get the exact same thing here on those two aircraft, checked a couple of the others and they are fine.Would suggest you report that to tech support at INFO at XPLANE dot COM.I made a couple of bug reports to them and had a response within a day.ChuckEDIT: I also informed tech support of your/our problem. November 28, 201114 yr Author I suspect the cause may be due to an older aircraft model (not specifically made for XP10) that they have the bug where the VC is persistent. Glad to see it's not just me though. The JetRanger, C172 and 747 are all good to go and IIRC they were all V9 aircraft. The C90 and Baron may be V8 aircraft that do something differently internally with XP10 that causes this. Aaron
November 28, 201114 yr I suspect the cause may beNot quite Aaron. It's a simple view setting in PlaneMaker under the "views menu". I'll change it for the next update. When it comes to views, there is no 'SHOULD BE' in x-plane. Each plane can be tailored in many ways depending on the aircraft author. Each of us have our own preferences about how and what we like to see and there is no real standard unfortunately; however, the views you desire do seem to be in demand by the masses and I'm more than happy to change it.TIP: If you don't want to wait for the next update, you can open the aircraft in planemaker and change the views to what you want by unchecking 2 checkboxes....I'm not in a position to post a screenshot, but if you dig around the screens in planemaker, you'll come across 3 rows of checkboxes to set views related to the cockpit. What you want is to not show the cockpit in forward (no panel) views. FORWARD view is 'w' and "FORWARD no PANEL" is SHIFT-w I think. You'll need to uncheck one box on the top row and one box on the bottom. When I get to my dev computer, I'll try and get some screenshots up.-Tom KylerV10 airport sceneryV10 aircraft
November 28, 201114 yr And you can always get into vc mode, slew fwd using comma till you're just at the nose, for now Simmo W, Melbourne, Ozhttp://www.youtube.com/user/id5556
November 28, 201114 yr The one that has me stumped is the "chase" view.In V9, the plane rotated as you panned. Now I can pan left/right but the plane stays stationary. November 28, 201114 yr When it comes to views, there is no 'SHOULD BE' in x-plane.Well, there should be. A consistent interface is one of the marks of good software design.
November 28, 201114 yr @MM,I don't care for the NEW camera views myself.But in time I'll get use to them anyway! "It's ALL about Flying" i7-9700k @5ghz | 32gb Gskill Ripjaw 5 DDR4 3000 | Nvidia RTX 4080 | W10 Pro | Samsung 32" 4K TV | Virpil Throttle & Pedals | Winwing Stick
November 28, 201114 yr Author Thanks for the info in how to edit currently. There should always be a view where no part of the aircraft or panel is visible in order to accommodate the home pit users. Why look at a virtual cockpit when you have a real one in front of you?I think the idea of the Forward view with/without hud is simply that if I want to see outside without a scrap of the aircraft visible, you would use these views. If you want the vc, you would use the normal w forward view and use the panning/movement controls to look around or trackIR. Aaron
