PMDG 747 'glass-like' and missing textures problem (FSX)

I've had the PMDG 747X for ages now and only recently have I found this problem, ONLY with non-official PMDG addon liverys.The exterior of the aircraft has a shiny or reflective coat to it which makes the livery look like a glass aircraft. The engines, tail and wings are fine, just the fuesalage & gear. Also the VC textures have gone, leading to a black VC. I've downloaded half a dozen BA liverys and they all do the same thing. All textures have the correct files & CFG is fine on all. Seems to be bug in the system only with non-pmdg liverys. Have scanned the internet and reinstalled. Help would be amazing! Your alpha channels are all black. Do you have tool such as DXTBMP (freeware) to correct this?

Thanks for getting back to me! Yeah I have DXTBmp. I've created a few repaints myself but never quite understood alpha channels. Anyway, can I fix the BA repaint? If so, what should I do?

Make sure the lights are correctly placed. You should also make sure the specular maps and bump maps are aliased correctly in the texture.cfg.
