Can't install my PMDG747-400

Featured Replies

Hello,I have bought and downloaded the PMDG 747-400X on the 27th of May 2011. I am not being able to install it and I keep getting an error just when the set up starts, cannot create effect as file already exists.I tried:\Setup using administrationI tried installing in a different folderI renamed effect files on my FSX folderbut i keep getting the error,Please check the attached fileI am running Windows 7 64 Bit. Please help me solve this issue.I have attached a file here too. I have sent 2 emails to [email protected] but got no reply and this is since June 2011.Can someone help me please?

You're probably not going to get any response here either without signing your full name per forum rules. How is anyone going to look up anything for you? They surely aren't going to take the time to go into your profile to do it.The problem with getting a response "may not" be that they haven't sent it. Don't email them since they've said that is not the way to get support too many times to count. Use their ticket system on their support page. Now, once you do that and open a "Ticket", check back periodically because chances are if you're not getting emails due to your own email blocking it (more often the case), then you also won't get ticket update emails. I have all of PMDG's email addresses added to my contact list to be sure I get emails and I still don't from their ticket notifications, so again I reiterate to check back periodically and you'll see your update.Just a question on your issue now and maybe also some clarification. If you chose to install in a different folder it will, but certain things are still going to into the FSXeffects folder regardless. So my questions are, how did you uninstall it before? Did you use control panel? If no and you used the start menu uninstaller than it may have left things behind and not even sure running the uninstaller with admin would help, but worth a shot in the future. Sorry I can't be more help but never heard of this. All that comes to mind is the last uninstall went bad or the registry is smoking crack. Maybe try running a registry clearner such as the free (and great) CCleaner and try again.

Thank you for your response. I am not very used to writing in forums, so I guess I missed reading the rules. I will try to do what you have told me to. Thanks once again.Ahmed AbdulRahman

Ahmed,The proper way to get support for your products is to submit a ticket using our Support system at http://support.precisionmanuals.com/ In regards to the issue you describe, this error indicates that either the downloaded zip file is corrupted most likely by an Agressive Anti virus application or some other protective software. It could also indicate that you have failed to unzip the installer after downloading. If you have unzipped the file and still are seeing issues please submit a ticket to the support system as outlined above.
