December 5, 201114 yr Hi heisebaer! (You actually should sign with your full name...)This PC-System is from Mifcom, isn`t it? I am also just thinking of buying a new PC-System there. The CPU is absolutely O.K., because they overclock it to 4,5GHz. As far as I know, Nvidia is better for FSX, but I am not sure. When you wanted to save money, you could exchange the Mainboard into an P8P67 Pro B3, that should aslo be O.K.All other parts are very good.CheersDavid
December 5, 201114 yr There is no need for an i7, an i5 2500K will do perfectly well.Mine is overclocked to 4.3GhzNvidia is prefereble to ATiCheck out ZachW's posts too.(Hope you don't mind Zach). December 5, 201114 yr Author The i7 2700k CPU will be overclocked by Mifcom self. I think i7 2700k is very well for NGX PMDG???My target is to fly very, very fluently with 30-50 FPS when possible with the PMDG NGX and many, many Aerosoft airports and REX, Mesh Scenery like Real Environmet. What would you say, is it possible???Jerome ASUS P8P67 1155 i7 2700k 4x 3,5 GHz not OC 16GB RAM NVIDIA GeFORCE GTX 570 1280 MB 800Watt Power Windows 7 home pre. 64 Bit

You do not need an i7 for FSX. It has such specials like "virtual cores", which you do not need for FSX. An i5 overclocked to 4,2GHz (what Mifcom does for you) is absolutely O.K.!And it is cheaper...David
December 5, 201114 yr Hello David,I get about 22~35 fps with Aerosoft scenery with default fsx.cfgI use EHAM from Aerosoft, but use UK2000 Scenery for the EGLL airport. December 5, 201114 yr Author QUESTION!!!!Look in my PC config again pls and say me, why I need two SSDs and a harddisk of 500GB???One for my Windows and FSX and one for my other files. Why three ones???Cheers, Jerome ASUS P8P67 1155 i7 2700k 4x 3,5 GHz not OC 16GB RAM NVIDIA GeFORCE GTX 570 1280 MB 800Watt Power Windows 7 home pre. 64 Bit
December 5, 201114 yr Hello David, good luck with that.@Jerome, you only need one SSD for FSX seperately,The OS is Ok with a standard Sata disk. Jude BradleyBeech Baron: Uh, Tower, verify you want me to taxi in front of the 747?ATC: Yeah, it's OK. He's not hungry. December 5, 201114 yr Author How many capacity should the SSD have is 128GB okay or needs the FSX more than 128GB, maybe 256GB??Thx Jude, Jerome ASUS P8P67 1155 i7 2700k 4x 3,5 GHz not OC 16GB RAM NVIDIA GeFORCE GTX 570 1280 MB 800Watt Power Windows 7 home pre. 64 Bit
December 5, 201114 yr Depends on how many add-ons you have. I have used up around 80 GB with a lot of airport sceneries, GEX, and REX, and douzens of other things. If you have as many add-ons as Bakaman (a guy on this forum with the most add-ons ever... :(), then you might want a 256 GB SSD.One very important tip! Do NOT get AMD (ATI) videocards. Although they are decend cards, they have a problem with their shaders, which can cause lower FPS with clouds. Also they do not perform as good as NVIDIA (not trying to be a ###### here but I've seen quite a few benchmarks...). If you have the money, get the MSI GTX 580 Lightning 1.5 GB. (450 euros). If you have less money, get the Asus GTX 570 1.2 GB (~300 euros). The best bang for the buck is the GTX 560TI though, only around 200 euros. It will not perform as good as the GTX 580, but in FSX the performance should still be great and it's definately great value for the price. Also, never get 2 or 3 GB graphics cards, because first of all, it's overkill. And secondly, it's can cause out of memory errors (OOM's), in FSX. Also, do not get more than 8GB RAM also, anything more will be overkill. If you want to get the best performance out of FSX, I highly recommend you overclock you CPU. First of all, an i7 is useless for FSX. It's got several extra functions (like virtual cores), that FSX, and pretty much any cannot use. An i5 2500K is much cheaper (180 euros), and will perform similar to and i7 at the same clockspeed. Because FSX is very CPU dependant, the best thing you can do is overclock your CPU. As you can see in my signature, it's overclocked to 4.5 GHz. I can probably get more out of it, but I wait until I get my new videocard and see how it will work.I also recommend you get a Z68 motherboard, with is basicly H67 and P67 in one. It's also a little bit more overclock friendly. The motherboard I have, an Asus P8Z68-Pro is a great board. A non Pro version is also good, but the Pro version has just got some good updates (I dunno what exactly but read it somewhere else...). Arjen Vandervelde
December 5, 201114 yr The I7 2600K, 2700K has more cache than the 2500K. 8mb vs. 6mb. Not sure how much that would effect performance but there is more of a difference than virtual cores. Brad Rich
December 5, 201114 yr Author Okay. I have many Add ons. Like Airports, REX, AES enhanement, FS Meteo. Overclocking is includd by the constructor of my PC.But my question is now, if I should take a SSD with 128GB or 256 GB?????? JeromeAnd what kind of hard disk should I take?? Is 500Gb enough for the Rest or is 1TB better for all?? ASUS P8P67 1155 i7 2700k 4x 3,5 GHz not OC 16GB RAM NVIDIA GeFORCE GTX 570 1280 MB 800Watt Power Windows 7 home pre. 64 Bit
