  1. Thanks guys! Found a file called dxgi.dll. That was the problem. Is there actually any difference between the new and the old shader-file relating the dx9 shaders?
  2. Thanks for you answers! But the problem is, that FSX just does not load with DX10 activated. Independent from the new shaders and with default shaders, it wont start and shows the above named problems. Is there any add-on that could cause with FSX in DX10 in general?
  3. Hi Paul! Thanks for you fast reply! Yes, I installed the patch first but, the DX10 preview mode does even not work with the standard shaders, before testing the new patch... Regards
  4. Hi guys! According to the install instructions of the great DX10 shader, I wanted to test if the DX10 preview runs with FSX. I ticked the relating box in FSX and restarted it; the blue start window appears (in task manager you can see fsx.exe appearing) and after one or two seconds, FSX and the blue start window close (it dissapears in task manager). I am using Win7 with a GTX570 with DX11 installed. Do you have any ideas how to get FSX to work with DX10 preview mode? Thanks! David
  5. Same problem here!
  6. Thanks for the nice hint! Could somebody explain again, how he did the installation please? I copied the files to the FSX main directory and pressed the pause button in flight, but I do not see any changes... Thanks in advance!
  7. Dear Flightsimmers, As some of you might already have heard, we introduced a new English speaking flight simulation news website called Simmernews.com a few weeks before. Simmernews was originated by the team of Flusinews.de, which rejoiced in the growing popularity in the German flight simulation community in the last 2 ½ years. The aim of Simmernews.com is a serious and confident reporting about the latest news in our scene, with daily news and articles and an independent testing of FS add-ons with frequent reviews. We want to deliver a free news service to all Flightimmers and aspire the integration of everybody of you in our service. Because of that, we would be very happy, if you would check our website today and give it a try, or if you would even join our team and apply as news or review author. We are always looking for nice colleagues in our still very small team! Additionally, we are proud to announce our Rollout Competition, where you can win great prices, kindly offered by Just Flight. By just liking us on Facebook or answering a small question, you will be integrated in our lottery drawing and have the chance to win a product of your choice from the Just Flight online store. As Flightsimmers, we represent only a small minority of PC users and we might be one of the only ones, who are seriously simulating a real a world workplace. Because of that, it is very important in our opinion, to stick together and give an appeal for interested people to join our community. We do not want to compete to other websites, but would wish to create a community wide cooperation with other fellow Simmers and websites. On behalf of the whole Simmernews.com team, a want to say thank you to have spent your time to read this lines. We would be happy to see you again as our readers or in our team! Best regards David Marx
  8. Great, Arjen!
  9. Example
  10. Idle reverse means, that the moveable part of the engine cowling moves back and the reverse lamination deflect the thrust forward. In this situation, no thrust is set and only idle thrust acts on the forward movement of the aircraft. In the EICAS you can see two REV signs that change from yellow to green when the reversers are fully extended. When you click only once on the reverse levers in the VC, idle reverse should be set. Cheers
  11. You can find when to use reverse thrust on the Arrival part of the airport briefing in the charts of in airport. In the most cases, you are asked not to use reverse thrust or only idle reverse thrust, so if the runway is long enough for your landing, you should not use reverse thrust because of the noise.
  12. Theoretically it is possibly. You could program a code, that when you have for example, >10% thrust, the reverser buttons do not work and <10% they do, That should be possible with FSUIPC Offsets and with LUA. But do not ask me how to do that in detail... Maybe Pete Dowson can help you. Cheers
  13. Dear PMDG-Team! First off all I want to say thank you for the great SDK, which should make it able to build a homecockpit with the NGX. For the inputs (knobs, switches, ...) I use "custom controls" in FSUIPC and the numbers for third party events from the PMDG_NGX_SDH.h-file. To assign the correct position of a knob, you also have to set parameters (like 0=off and 1=on), this works great for a simple on/off switch with to positions like the taxi light switch. But which parameters do I have to use to set a switch with three positions like the landing lights retract switch or a knob for the autobrake? Do you also have a small list for that? Thank you! Best regards Thanks, problem solved, I found the answer in the PMDG_NGX_SDH.h-file.
  14. Hello Magnus! I also want to build a homecockpit based on the NGX. I have done some research the last days and the software problem should be solved now. Outputs: The new FSUIPC version includes offsets (only reading) for the NGX. Download the new FSUIPC version and see the relating PDF-File. Inputs: Inputs can be done with "custom controls" in FSUIPC. You have to assign a button and selct "custom controls" in the drop down menu. Then open the PMDG_NGX_SDK.h-file. When you scroll down, you can see the numbers you have to use (e.g. THIRD_PARTY_EVENT_ID_MIN + 1 for the BAT switch). So you have to add 1 to 69632. This is the control which the button will send. See also this post. Regards David Edit: It is important, that you set a parameter. E.g. 1 for On and 0 for Off. I am not sure what parameters a switch with three postions has, but I will ask in another post.
