Thrustmaster T.Flight Hotas X question

Featured Replies

Hello AllI used to use a Saitek Cyborg joystick. After years of sterling service this finally expired .One thing I could do with the Saitek was map the F9 key (open close FSNavigator) to a button on it.My next choice of stick after the demise of the Borg was the Thrustmaster X Hotas, now this stick for its price is by far the best I have owned ,but for one little thing, I can't program the F9 key (as I could with my old Cyborg (silly names) this is only a minor ,but nonetheless irritating problem as every time I need to open FSNav (flight planning or inflight) I have to keep reaching for my keyboard each time and it can be really annoying (probably doesn't sound so ,but it is for me).Has anybody here got the Thrustmaster and if so have you by any chance managed to program the F9 (FSNav ) key to the hotas ? Maybe I am overlooking something in the programming and it can be done.Anywayscheers Andy

A little expansion as to how you did it would be appreciated.I am not sure whether the programming software of the warthog is different from the Hotas x.AndyPS have just googled the Warthog and it looks a lot more complex and expensive than my humble hotas and maybe comes with more comprehensive programming options.

I own the HOTAS -X also, nice stick.. The only way to map F9 (FSNAV) is using a registered version of FSUIPC and referring to the "FSUIPC for advanced users.pdf". Attached is my "cheatsheet" & my entries for FSUIPC. Note the entry for FSNAV is under (BUTTONS) entry #47. It requires the right base button to be down then click the left base button. I have 2 alternate buttons to double the functions on either side of the stick.Roman

Thanks Roman for taking the time. I have to confess to not understanding what you have sent me wink.png ,but if I do go for the payware FSUIPC I imagine I could sort it out.It does look as though some of the newer and more expensive Thrustmaster sticks have software that allows you to program keys (like F9-FSNav ) as standard.Cheers to youAndy
