December 15, 201114 yr Try leaving the Sid/star in the flight plan. Ngx should ignore them & load the rest of the waypoints. Then you can add the Sid/star using the cdu & save it as a coroute, keeping them intact for the next time you fly that route. December 16, 201114 yr Okay I bought FSBUILD long time ago and used that until I started using FS Commander 9. However it's been quite some time since I used FSbuild so I can't remember everything but here goes.Just leave FSBuild alone like it was before SP1b. Make your plans with the SIDs and STARS. Export it to PMDG and FSX. RC4 uses the FSX flight plan correct? So what will happen here is RC4 will get its SID and STAR like you say it needs and PMDG will just strip the SID and STAR out but only for the PMDG Flight Plan. Then when your setting up the FMC select your Runway, SID and STAR and why would that work? The FSX plan you built for RC4 is seperate from the NGX Plan.As for the fiddling and editing wayopionts, you must be doing something the hard way because it is very easy to add SIDS and STARs and quick too.Make a plan with SID and STAR. Export to the PMDG. PMDG strips the STAR and SID out. Now use the FMC to choose a runway for departure, then add the SID. You select a SID by using the Departure/Arrival Button (DEP/ARV). Once you add it if there are some other waypoints already in your flight plan before the SID starts do the following.Click on the button next to where the SID starts and then click the button next to where the first waypoint is. This will move the SID up in the list to the very top. When your done your first waypoint should be the start of the SID.You don't have to get rid of FSBuild just need to learn how to do things the easy and quick way cause it seems obvious your doing it the hard way. December 16, 201114 yr I appreciate all the information you are giving me on this problem. I will try and set up FSBuild to avoid exporting the runway and SID/STAR.However, I always use Radar Contact 4 along with the excellent 737NGX. This is the only off line ATC programme that is anything like good. However, RC4 needs a .pln file to operate. I had the FSBuild programme exporting identical flight plans in both .rte and .pln formats so that the FMC and RC4 plans synchronised. What do I do now? If I select a SID or STAR on the FMC the RC4 programme will not have any idea where I am going and shout at me for being off course. Is there a way of converting .rte files to .pln files?Any help or suggestions will be much appreciated.Chris Hall.Chris,It is true that RC4 needs a .PLN file to operate but it does not need a .PLN file that is identical to the .RTE file. RC4 fully recognizes that nice, neatly packaged SIDs/STARs in flight plans are anything but realistic thus the reason for the "No Dep Proc" and related options to allow you the flexibility of using SIDs based on a number of factors, which are only known at flight time and not when the enroute plan was developed. My personal preference is to have the first waypoint in the FSBuild-generated flight plan be some distance from the A/P (30+ NM) so that I can have the flexibility of using a SID or having RC4 vector me to my first waypoint. By PMDG disallowing the prepackaging of SIDs/STARs in the flight plan has added consistency with, not only the real world, but also with how RC4 works. FSBuild does not in any way inhibit this convergence. Checkout the RC4 manual, you will be fine.Zach zachlog
